Ironically this time last year we were feeling pretty good about our prospects. Brown had kicked plenty and Higgo had a great year even after missing a few games.

Agree......Im quietly hoping that the club is pushing hard behind the scenes and Im quite happy to not hear anything about it until the day they announce it.

People thinking we’d of got anything more than a 3rd rounder for goldy and higgo combined have no idea.
The same people say don’t trade brown for a first rounder, cos it’s a lucky dip to get someone as good.

We need to spend the next two to three years targeting players who are currently in the 23-26 age group. We completed ****ed up the 2010-2014 drafts and we're going to be short on experienced leaders when our current core retires.

I don't want to be wasting the athletic primes of Simpkin, Davies-Uniacke, Thomas, Taylor, Scott etc, because the only veterans on our list are Anderson, Dumont, Atley and McDonald.

Go hard for Williams, go hard for Corr and go extra hard on letting our out of contract players go so that we can take a chance on 2-3 cheap pickups in that range.

I did a half arsed attempt at what that might look like. Closest I could get to anything resembling reality was:

Adelaide d. Carlton by 20
Richmond d. Adelaide by 30

North lose to Freo by 45
North lose to WCE by 70.

Not even worth thinking about.

Yikes, currently a less than 6% difference with a game coming up against a West Coast team fighting for top four.

If we get the number one pick, we trade Brown for sure I reckon. Take McDonald #1, bring in somebody like Wright or Finlayson as a stop gap and then take the three best midfielders available with three top 25 picks. Use Brown's salary to go extra hard at Williams and leave some in the bank for Kelly the next year.

It could be more like 100%. Whatever happens GWS will try to sign Cameron first and that leaves no room to make generous offers to players like Williams.

Question to the guys who know there sh1t when it comes to trading. Do you think any other clubs 2020 first-round pick is up for grabs in 2020? If so what kind of deal do you think gets it done?

Top of my head I was thinking maybe the Bulldogs pick given they have an academy prospect and would be highly unlikely to get ahead of the pick.

I thought the Pies had two players in that 10/20 range. I guess they’d be looking to offload their first.

Every chance you would be able to pick up Wood in the draft without trading. He is out of contract and 50/50 at best to get another deal at North. He is a restricted free agent too if I recall correctly.

And other than Polec I wouldn't call them highly paid players. Wood is around 400-450 and don't reckon hall is much more... Wood is ooc and cant see him been offered another... hall a year to go
