When they arrived Biden told them the conversation "on the record" and proceeded to tell them he wanted a black VP. Washington Post reported it. Black reporter is interviewed by CBS and repeats Bidens comments..... and never any retraction from the Biden camp.

Don't make the mistake of thinking Bernie supporters are going to swing this election. If that were the case, he would have won the nomination. Harris is designed to appeal to women and middle-aged people, not young people of any race. I doubt any Bernie supporters were planning to vote for Biden and would reconsider because of Harris.

Biden has a million problems with him that would scare off anyone with a progressive ideology, unless they were holding their nose and voting for him purely to get rid of Trump. Harris isn't changing anything for those people.

The Dems base is quite split. Bernie was well in the race until Jim Clyburn's endorsement. Trump has a very solid base. Dems need a large turnout to beat it. Turning away Bernie supporters isn't going to help.

If Biden had not said anything and then chosen Kamala, people, like with Trump and Pence, could say they see the strategy behind ithe decision. Biden though came out publicaly and said he was only choosing someone who was Black and a women.

This now becomes entirely different as he has excluded all but about 5 candidates based purely on race and gender.

It's not hysteria. It just questioning those that throw the word 'racist' around like confetti, but brush Buden's choice off as not being racist when it meets the pure definition.

As for the walk which you seem overly obsessed with. My view is that commonly known tear gas as in CS and CN gas wasn't used but pepper balls were.
