I went and googled it and he said "if he wins the nomination, he'd prefer his running mate be a woman or person of color." That definitely does not mean "I am only choosing a black woman even if she isn't qualified or worthy of being VP" as the conservatives here claim.
I wish he had explicitly said his VP pick would be a non white female.

Really get the foam frothing.

But... what about her is "so transparently fake"?
Have you heard her speak? She's a construct. Plays the wide-eyed newcomer role but there's nothing but lust for power behind those eyes.

She was chosen in the same way an Idol contestant is. She was sold as s struggling minority bartender when in fact she grew up as Sandy Cortez in a very well off suburb.

I agree* she is entirely fake.

*This is not the Bay so this is a one-off.

Not sure if its been mentioned in the thread before (please don't ask me to read the last 400 pages) but does anyone else find Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez completely insufferable?

Her whole persona is so transparently fake that I sit there watching the most contrived phrases escaping her lips while pondering what kind of human being could ever take her seriously? Heck I almost admire the countless years it would've taken to sculpt this obvious construction of a personality not to mention the effort that goes into hiding the real person behind it, but at the very least that makes it impossible to trust her with any real power.
Nah, she's probably one of the least fake personas in the house tbh. I have more issue with the many house representatives who spend countless years sculpting reputations of fighting for the rights of the common man while simultaneously taking millions from corporate lobbyists and actively voting against the interests of the people they're supposedly fighting for. If you don't take AOC seriously for uttering contrived phrases, I can only imagine what you might think of those animals.

Do you find it coincidental that conservative politics is full of predominantly white men? Do you think people only care about diversity because the media reports on it?

It's a very odd thing you are wondering here.
Maybe if the left stopped calling black conservatives Uncle Tom's and not considering them to be 'real' blacks we might get more black politicians.

Yeah, it is definitely the left that is holding back black people from entering politics...

12% of Congresspeople, 3% of Senators are black. Total of 61.

Two are Republicans.

If they can't deal with being called a name, they wouldn't last as politicians anyway. And people don't suddenly stop being conservative just because of a little criticism from the left.

The real reason why the Republicans have so few black people in office is because they have consistently screwed over black people ever since Kennedy supported civil rights and Goldwater chose the Southern Strategy. They have shown at every turn that they don't care about the problems of the black community and only tolerate black people who speak for corporate interests rather than black community interests. The Democrats aren't fantastic in this sphere either, but they're tangibly better than the Republicans.

Here's an example of how black conservatives get shut down by the mainstream right whenever they say something that isn't comfortable for white America to hear.

Geez its gonna be hard for the right wingers in here to play the "we're not racist" hand now that their president has backed his second conspiracy theory about the birthplace of a prominent black Democrat.

No, nothing racist or sexist from the right ....

Murdoch being Murdoch. The real question is, are those on this thread being racist following him, or vice versa?

Fake news. In response to the gotcha question he specifically said he has no idea if its true or not. Media = Trump supports birther conspiracy!

In the name of "inclusivity" the democrats "excluded" 93% of Americans from consideration as VP because they narrowed the field to a black female only. Cartoonist highlights their hypocracy. Left = racist! sexism!

Harris is a headkicker though. Biden needs that so he can stay out of the gutter and let his VP sling the mud (trump has the opp situation, where pence is his moderating presence, allowing him to bludgeon)

I like Klobuchar, but she lacks that ability. Also you need to look at the weaknesses of the two in the primaries. Harris was that (1) her campaign was horribly run, and (2) she was seen as a candidate for nothing but being elected (in part due to her shitty campaign). Klobuchar on the other hand was very hot and cold, would engage brilliantly one day, but then be beiger than beige the next.

Biden doesnt need a VP with their own agenda, he needs one who can be a trump punching bag. thats Harris, not Klobuchar
I too liked Klobuchar but thought that she was just too 'nice'. Harris is the head kicker to Grandpa Biden. Think it is a good team and is a shame that some posters on here want to make it all about race and not that she seemed to be the most qualified and the right age group.

Here are two examples of her skills (one where she was 'nasty' :)to Kavanaugh) and her making poor old (I don't recall) Sessions 'nervous'...
She also did a pretty good job when questioning Barr. Hope she goes after him first if they get in.

Jesus. The left! The left! Squawk!

Is there anything the GOP do wrong that can't be blamed on the left?

Hey GreyCrow good time to change title?

Trump/Pence v Biden/Harris or whatever you like.:)
Or at 10,000 post + limit it could be shut down and a new one started with that heading?
