Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

If Lobb came in for anything other than a junk pick (or even treated as a negative asset tbh), I'd be a little disappointed. Fine player. Decent positional fit.

29 and 700k tho. It's just not where our list needs to be at. I'd rather just play a Kosi/Lewis/McEvoy combo and not give up the salary or draft capital.

Yep Lobb is not improving our list albeit maybe better depth than Brooksby. His career has just about passed him by imo.

I reckon a lot of these lads on our list have been overpaid the past few years to get us towards our minimum spend, and with us losing Burger O’Brien Howe and possibly a star we will be battling to be near 90% TPP.

Some salary will need to come in or we will need to be paying outgoing players wages. Tough decisions ahead.

I guess it's that or keep front loading and pay Darcy Moore $2m in 2023 🤷‍♂️

I hate front loading rubbish. Keep them hungry and playing out the entire contract like they did on day 1 of the contract.

Footballers are like the rest of us. A small increase in salary each year is the way to go and get results.

No point spending on a ruck. There are 4 good rucks in the comp and aside from Gawn, they are in the mid or bottom sides. Can always find a competitive ruck.
We have good defence, We need fast quality mids - that is what wins flags: high-end draft picks that become star mids (Petracca, Oliver, Bont, Ollie Wines, Boak, Dusty, ...) You then build a side of role-players around 2-3 of those.
Talk of Lobb, Lathams (who come at a price) - useless waste.

I’ll be pretty disappointed if we follow through with Ladhams, considering that port want a good pick for him, but are clearly pushing him out the door.

Surely if Port are the ones pushing him out the door they can't then jack up their asking price. He's a player who was picked in the rookie draft and has played a total of 32 games over 4 seasons, not a former top 10 pick. If we are interested we better play hardball.

Find it interesting that its his management calling asking. Solid on field, apparently rubbish off field. Know the club will always back themselves into getting him right but wouldn't even go near him if it cost anything more than a third round pick. Part of me though is always like well on field he should improve our team so why not if we get a bargain?

They think that he has scope to be a number one ruck and that a number one ruck commands a first round pick.

If he was keen and we were keen he is worth nothing more than one pick in the 20s.

He has shown the occasional glimpse yet cannot get a game in front of Lycett so that tells you where he stands.

In fact a swap between Ceglar and Ladhams and we pay some of Ceglars wage might make more sense.

Port are in the window for a flag and want a mature back up ruck ready to go when Lycett has another brain fade and gets rubbed out.

We might view Ladhams at age 23 as a future chance to combine with Reeves.

Elite at ground level for someone his size, strong hands, can kick it.
Fair bit to work with.

Wow, he seems a pretty competent footballer & has pretty exciting highlights up forward.

Lots of Peter Ladhams specialists in here, who knew.

I wouldn't be giving up anything before the third round. Which suggests that unless we get something else in we only offering pick 61 or whatever it is now?

Based on their asking price that likely a short conversation and we move on
