He is as skinny as a rake. Project what he could be in 3-4 years time, not what he is now. He is not going to be a contested ball beast but I think he could project as a pretty deadly balanced midfielder that only need to get the footy 20 times to destroy you with his skills.

I suspect being local would play a reasonable part in the thinking as well as more exposed form over the last couple of years. Personally, I am higher on Sinn but would be happy with NWM
I’m not of the school of thought that high or even medium-level contested ball winning is something that can be taught - your ability to win it at junior level is often a good indicator for how will apply at the next level, particularly as the AFL level is a step up in that area

NWM might eventually be able to provide elite disposal out of traffic, but IMO I don’t ever see him as ever really being that good in that area, if his application for winning contested ball in U18 matches is anything to go by

Hawks rumour they'll trade 5 and a future 1st for 2 and 13 with some other pick swaps involved.
No reason why we couldn't do something similar.....other than the bad blood from Hately non-trade last year....a case in point why you don't try to offended the other club in a trade (even if it is GWS, Sydney, GC etc...) it can come back to bite you at the most inopportune time.

Have a feeling North might do that trade we offered them tonight.

More wishful thinking than believing.

If you are referring to trade we offered them during the trade week, then we no longer have that 1st round pick we traded for Dawson

GWS have the Hawks in the cross hairs, could easily keep 13.

Trade Pick 2 for Pick 5 and Future 1st.
Or Hawks say no, and GWS can choose if they select another mid they don't need, or go for Andrew when they could have had another first if they didn't get greedy.

— Richmond takes Josh Gibcus at Pick 9 (altered from Matt Johnson)

— St Kilda takes Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera at Pick 11 (altered from Josh Gibcus)

— West Coast takes Campbell Chesser at Pick 12 (altered from Neil Erasmus)

— Essendon takes Josh Sinn at Pick 13 (altered from Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera)

— Port Adelaide takes Matt Johnson at Pick 14 (altered from Josh Sinn)

—Richmond takes Neil Erasmus at Pick 17 (altered from Jacob Van Rooyen)

Just realised many outlets seem to have Goater sliding out of the first round

Even more of a must-get than Knevitt or Draper, if so
If we cannot trade up to pick 2, I would seriously trade back for 7 and 15 if it means we can get Sinn and Goater. Along with Dawson would absolutely transform that midfield. All of a sudden there quite a bit of power, speed and size in that midfield.

One of Sinn and Goater are much more enticing then the both of them together. I would much rather Rachele and Sinn/Goater or NWM and Sinn/Goater.

How did we have Sydney over the barrel?

We got him for a pick in the 20s - AND we upgraded our other second round.
I contracted and we had an earlier pick in PSD. In the end they got scared they might get nothing for him and accepted the offer. We should have said 23 or nothing. Old ground now to cover, who cares now
