Some of them want Bucks because he’s ex-Port, he’s strong and intense and seems to have a clue, and at least got the Pies into a GF.
I think he’s be a big upgrade on Ken, and not just because most people would be
Whether he’d come or not, who knows
What I think is more likely is a change of assistants, especially if Schofield is already off to the Eagles. Bassett may have used up all his credit too, plus it’s either change assistants or change the coach and the latter would be an admission that they’ve kept him too long
But yeah, I’d go for Bucks. Surely there are board meetings happening right now churning over what went wrong and what the options are. Given other clubs are making changes and need coaches they’d be moving fast
Port wont get rid of Hinkley until they fall out of finals or he walks. Based on this year, they will go all out for a grand final next year, target free agents etc or trade for senior 29yo using future 3rd round picks. unless they fall out of the finals race next year which is entirely possible I can't see him leaving on his own for another two seasons.

I don't think so really. But I'd rather them stick with Hinkley.Few on the Port board suggesting they want Nathan Buckley instead of Ken Hinkley
Would he actually be any better though?
This game was more the Dogs being far to good rather than Port not turning up
Last nights match showed just how overhyped Port are and the list.
Firstly if it wasn't for Boak, Port wouldn't have even made finals. When a 33yo is your star midfielder, you have issues.
Robbie Gray should announce his retirement. He is clearly slowing up and while I am 100% certain he will play next year, he shouldn't. He won't be doing his team any favours.
Steven Motlop needs to be delisted.
Rozee needs to redefine his game. Right this second, if you were to rank the standings from players in his draft year, McHenry could be ahead of him let alone all the other first round players. Its like he is trying to live off this culture of flashiness but is lacking the tricks to pull it off. He looks like a midfielder playing forward and he just looks out of place. Butters has jumped ahead of him and will be a star.
Duursma I believe is going to end up being a travelling depth player. Alot of hype and after an impressive debut year he has no substance. He should never ever bring out that bow and arrow celebration again.
Hinkley again proves he can not coach. He is a great motivator but his match day coaching is average at best. He sacrificed one of his best ball winners to shut down an average opponent and the wrong one. The loss of Drew really hurt Port in the midfield.
What would also be concerning for Port would be how many players simply disappeared when the pressure increased.
Basically they lived up to the downhill skiing football they have been renowned for. Beating up on crap sides but falling to good ones. This is Hinkleys cultural legacy. They win enough games to hide it but it gets exposed badly in finals.
2 home prelim finals loses might leave scars on this teamPort wont get rid of Hinkley until they fall out of finals or he walks. First quarter.A few have been critical of Rozee,
Was there a particular incident where he squibbed or something? What qtr/time was this?
Holy shit wonder whyHe hasn't even worked in the football industry for 8 of the 10 years of the last decade
I don't see why someone who is essentially a Football Administrator would be so cocky about his club. I don't think that helps the mindset of the players or coaches. I'd say the same if it came from anyone from our club. Low profile and go about your business.
ohk just watched first qtr, cant say i noticed anything.First quarter.
Then the rest of the time he ran in circles trying to look xfactoree and clever.. but just ended up ******* up..
Just looks like a player that has believed the BS and gotten way to far ahead of himself..
Some of the same signs coming from butterboy too..
Hope I dont get banned for this, its violent vision of a bloodbath at Adelaide Oval last night.
Excellent player manager so players will initially play for him and then a few years later they get comfortable with him and don't try as hard, hence why the players supposedly "love" him and why he is consider by the industry as a sh*t game day coach.
Also on that board (same post?) they noted that Bevo was on the bench, talking to players, active, involved, even when the game was won.Mentioned in the Port board how Ken sits in the coaches box staring blankly, doing nothing, surrounded by no one. Every coach has their own style, but what’s with that?? Appears to be no one next to him, he never makes a note or talks on the phone. He looks like rugby coaches who seem to just watch it all play out.
Weird
He squibbed it in a contest right on ports forward fifty.. dont know the exact time but it was well into the first quarter..ohk just watched first qtr, cant say i noticed anything.
Can you describe it? I'll go back and have a look
He’s better off resigning now than being sacked next year on their declineMentioned in the Port board how Ken sits in the coaches box staring blankly, doing nothing, surrounded by no one. I think he was ordering 5 cans of coke zero...I think Ken was telling us the score was 5 goals to zero only 10 minutes in last night.
