We got into a GF, blew our chance badly, went through a camp or whatever the fk happened there, had the Richmond song played over and over, fkd up players minds, split the group, all the fkg rest of it, tried for two more years to pull a flag out of the same group - and then realized, we need a fresh start. New chairman and CEO to give us clear air from all that. New coach who could realistically say to the players, time to put all that behind you, let’s rebuild and start again and enjoy playing footy together.

Their midfield has four genuine A graders in Macrae, Bont, Dunkley and Treloar while Smith and Libba aren’t far off. Naughton is a gun and English is a pretty good second option and their smalls work well together.

Only thing they miss in terms of talent on paper is their backline but a combination of excellent coaching and midfield domination has meant they’re able to overcome that.

People don't realise that the only reason Aliir was out of the game was because he was made to be accountable. Unlike some teams, they didn't just blindly kick down the line where Aliir could double team an opponent and run off his. They deliberately kicked to his opponent or over his head to contests behind him. Thats why he was useless. he'd sagged off his opponent all game to be the extra man down the line for the intercept mark but the dogs didn't fall into the trap. A few teams this year did that well where most didn't. Anyone who rated Aliirs cheap marking this year as special really doesn't understand the game and how bad some teams are at moving the ball. A good team has a good defender who can intercept mark, but if anything, Aliir was shown up as as a poor defender, he is just a great intercept mark. Probably why Sydney were happy to trade him.

It's like this poster was reading my posts about them giving the industry the impression they trade in "need" and get the players they target, I might add they got in Rockliff because they played Boak forward so he looked "cooked" when clearly he was being played out of position with Rockliff made redundant when Boak was moved back into the midfield.

Once again they keep telling us they're the "real" Port Adelaide.

They're becoming more plastic by the day, the real Port would've sacked Kern and ****ed off Koch.

And the knock on him was he is very poor by foot and he did some horrible clangers when the game wasn't played on his term.

Some posters regardless of the side, actually understand football. He is correct.

Butters, Rozee and Drew all look good but they aren't hitting the mark as match winners. Good talent though but none of them are the build a midfield around leaders for the next decade.

Bergman and Georgiades are wins but part of me feels like Georgiades is benefiting from Dixon being in the forward line and he is getting the lesser defenders. his test will come.

Duursma, Farrell, Marshall are depth players

need to focus on filling these holes with young talent. they will be forced to rebuild in two years anyway. so problem will be solved.
