John Todd said great players can play anywhere and a good tall will always beat a good small.
Not a bad philosophy.

Hambling looking fit and healthy last night at a dinner with the dockers defenders at Strange Company in Freo. Ryan, Cox et. al. there and strangely Duman. When you stop and think about it for a minute, would Gibcus be that terrible. His family are formally from WA are planning to return ,so he may be a long term docker player. My main reasoning here is that although we have solid players in the back line ,I am not so sure. Hamling hasn't played in 2 years with his injury, not sure that he'll ever be the same and probably break down again, then you have Pearce ,he's very injury prone and from that point is unreliable for the future. You then have logue ,and the jury is still out whether he becomes that A grade player we hope he would, leaving Cox as a reasonable key backline player.
We have Chapman who is going to develop into a top player but he may be better in other positions, either way Gibcus give us that extra insurance
It's absolutely him but that he looks like he is cosplaying as one of the characters in Reno 911 is just added joy.View attachment 1283385
Think it might actually have been Taylin's going away. Is that Kersten in the blue?
So you'd be happy with Gibcus?Stephen Michael could have played key back, key forward, wing, flank or mid field and at 188 cm played as a ruck and made AA ruck as well as captain of the AA side.
Great players can play anywhere.
This fixation of key holing a young boy because they played a particular position as a junior is ridiculous.

And yet I still remember Mathews and Ablett Snr destroying players of all shapes and sizes.John Todd said great players can play anywhere and a good tall will always beat a good small.

Brennan's Cox extends for two more years.

Yep it’s TommyIs that Sheridan on the end?
The way this guy gets treated on podcasts and always ends up in these of photos of informal player gatherings, he must be one of the Great Guys To Hang Out With.
Sounds painful
If we draft the 8th and 10th highest rated on Knighmares Power Rankings, we'd get Andrew and Rachelle. If we manage to get one or both of Erasmus and Johnson, we should be very happy as they're rated 6 and 7 respectively.

Fremantle has:
Picks 8 and 10 in the Tier 2
Pick 21 in the Tier 3
Johnson, Amiss and Erasmus are all needs and from WA. Seems like a no brainer for them to be priority.

I rate JVR but to be fair Amiss had a knee injury in the finals.I still rate JVR above Amiss, he averaged more goals per game at colts level and stood up in the finals, something Amiss failed to do.

JVR is very similar to Oscar Allen, and could be developed at both ends of the ground.I rate JVR but to be fair Amiss had a knee injury in the finals.
You make a great point about JVR having better stats that Amiss.
We do need to consider that JVR had glandular fever and Amiss was travelling 100's of km.
Amiss rate of improvement is greater than JVR.
Both seem to have pros and cons.
