I've tried to do some research into those I would be happy with the club picking up. Obviously there are a lot more, but this is who I've looked at so far today...

1) KPF/ruck - Matt Hammelmann, Joel Ottavi, Wylie Buzza

2) KPF - Jackson Callow

3) Mid/small forward - Tyson Stengle, Tyrone Thorne, Bailey Lambert, Ben Crocker, Billy Gowers, Jordan Gallucci

4) Inside mid - Zavier Maher, Nathan Freeman, Josh Schoenfeld, Haiden Schloithe, Jack Avery

5) KPD - Blake Schlensog

Alex Mirkov, although its rumoured we are picking him up, I am not a huge fan of. Still seems a bit raw and I personally would prefer a more 'ready made' ruck.

My choices would be one of Joel Ottavi /Wylie Buzza and Tyson Stengel /
Ben Crocker.
Mids / sml forwards could surprise and have immediate impact, Ruckman obviously will be a project players development a
longer term.

Nathan Freeman has thrown his hat into the ring to be nominated in the mid season draft! Surely needs to be looked at
Not so sure.

Hammies could go at any minute and the reports I’ve heard are that the 40s he’s having aren’t ‘good 40s’... lots of 1-2 receives, cheap possessions, etc

If we don't take Wylie Buzza..... seriously.......

I challenge anyone in the team not called Sam Walsh to rack up a cheap 40 possessions...

Can you write the full top 20 here? Paywall is getting in the way.

Don't think we're supposed to dump big slabs of text from articles. So I've skipped the write ups, but here's the names:

Jacob Edwards
Ned Moyle
Zavier Maher
Will Bravo
Felix Flockhart
Max Heath
Cody Raak
Corey Preston
Ben Crocker
Wylie Buzza
Riley Knight
Tyson Stengle
Oliver Davis
Jackson Callow
Jack Hayes
Eamon Wilkinson
Jordan Gallucci
Michael Knoll
Corey Gault
Josh Green

Crocker is not what we need. If Murphy’s lack of forward pressure frustrates us, why add double the frustration. If we are going to add a small/medium forward you want it to be some one that zips around with pace adding plenty of pressure and running opposition down from behind. Keeping it in our forward half is what will lead to more goals. Hoping that Durdin becomes that player. I would prefer to get games into Honey and Durdin that add Crocker.

You must be watching a different Crocker to me. He is playing as an undersized Full forward and burning defenders for pace while still taking plenty of marks using body work. Could add Fritsch style target up forward. He couldn't be doing much more than he is at the moment.

I think the issue with adding Crocker is that we already have on the list JSOS, McGovern, Charlie Curnow, Levi Casboult and Oscar McDonald in that role.. The fact 4 of them are injured is a disaster but adding another is just poor list balance when we have only 2 key defenders and zero backup, only 2 ruckmen with no backup and zero capable wingers.

Yup agree with yr assessment, would be a nice addition to our forward line.
I’d select Crocker or Stengle and a KP / Ruckman prospects too.
we are saturated with part time midfielders that just can’t produce AFL standard.
Either Crocker or Stengle could contribute immediately after some adjustment.

I think he plays small than all of the players you have listed.

He would do that at Afl level , better more athletic opponents. I watched him when he was at Collingwood & personally thought he struggled with pace of Afl level & he would get that space like he does at Vfl. Just not sure hes more than a quality Vfl player .... i could be wrong ?

20year old struggled with the pace of the game. A few players on our list battling with this criteria.

Flip side is forwards often find it easier with better delivery in the 1st with there often being more space with better ball movement.

Without having seen him play, I think he needs more credit, Setters, Cunners, Dow and Kennedy have all played VFL this year, I don’t think any of those guys have had a 30 possession game, let alone 40.

Not questioning his ability to kick a goal. What has hurt us big time has been our ability to keep the ball in our forward half (like the good teams do). It comes out as quickly as it comes in. He adds nothing to fix that problem and doesn’t give us too much more than what we have with our current medium forwards.
