We must continue to load up youth via the draft 2021 & 2022.
Then as we develop our 12-15 young recruits…we then move into F.A & Trade mode to fill the gaps 2023 onwards.
Land some big Tuna.
Flag tilt 2025+

i initially thought that said 12-15 year olds, and I was thinking, geez they've lowered the draft age lol

Gee he looks like he has a good pair of hands, decent leap / timing and a bit of the inspector-gadget arms thing going on too if that spoil over the top about 2/3rds of the way through is any indication. If he has another minor growth spurt to add another inch or so he'll be a very nice size for a KPD overall too.

If Krueger nominates us.. Imma celebrate by hop skipping and jumping down Brunswick St.. in my 5k Hugo Boss suit.. singing.. 'they paved paradise and put up a parking lot.. with the Provincial Hotel.. the Black Pearl.. and the Perseverance night spoooottttttt'.
I tried to visit the Tree Museum once.
However was closed due to Management restructuring.
They were trying to clear out all the dead wood.

Most of the smaller ones who make it though are under 18 stars, or guys who are more freakish forward pockets.

The kids got AFL attributes, but there are reasons why he might go late. I hope we get him though.
I’d be shocked if he cost us anything more than matching with a fourth rounder. Reckon he will end up being like Josh Daicos who keep in mind at the time had shown more and had higher upside. I think Dib is a good little player and for a free hit is worth a chance, but think of him similar to Atu - clean hands, evasive, good defensive pressure - but clear areas to work on - impact by foot, consistency and to a lesser extent, forward craft. The thing is Atu is most suited at junior level as an inside mid - his strengths lend to that. He won’t play that at AFL level, will play forward. He will project as a pressure forward with scope to roll through the mid in future years, but he’s at best a late selection. I also wouldn’t be completely shocked to see him even be a free pickup in the rookie draft. Depending on who’s on the board late, we probably could just use our last pick on him, but given he is eligible as that NGA prospect, we could very well put him there and use the main list selection on another player.

I didn't think Josh Daicos had shown more? I was under the impression he barely touched the footy in under 18s, but when he did, he looked good?

Does anyone have more knowledge on him?

Could he anchor the backline for the next 10 years?
Would you trade back in to get him?

Yes he looks good, but no he doesn't look good enough to trade back into the top 10 this year to get him, given it would obviously take our future first which could very well be a top 3-5 pick.

I mean he averaged 15.9 disposals, 5.1 marks and 1.3 goals over seven games in the NAB League and 11.3 disposals and 2.7 marks (as well as two goals in three games) at the Champs for Vic Metro. He wasn't massively influential, but he certainly had the traits to suggest upside, and I wouldn't say he didn't touch the football.

I was clearly wrong. Might be confused with Tyler, or might have just imagined things.

I think it was more his surname was Daicos and he wasn't doing what Nick is doing now, therefore he was not really talked up. He was far from a bad prospect, he actually had a lot of potential, unfortunately the weight of expectations from a lot of people at the time was he must be booting multiple goals every game and being a match-winner. He's developed into that player (Sydney game) and has those same traits, but Nick now has the hype based on his far more readymade approach and his natural ball-winning abilities with his goal sense.

If the opportunity arose would you consider live trading our future second rounder into this year for a key position need like a Bazzo or Van Rooyen if they were available ?

I think we do need a KPP this year, but the issue is that next year has some more KPP options, so if we can hold firm, my best thought is to grab a readymade one if we're desperate, or trade in one (Riccardi for example), and maybe get games into Ash Johnson. Some great potential at the top-end next year, and realistically if we have a similar season (hopefully better), then we've got a good bargaining position heading into Trade Period in 12 months time too.

Plus in that scenario GWS would bid Darcy before Daicos too
GWS might not even bid at all, and could drop to suns pick, which he would not get past.

But imagine all the media articles talking about our pick deal if he doesn't get bid on at pick 1, or even pick 2...
