What do we think about

Pick 36 + future 3rd (Brisbane) for future 2nd (Adelaide)

Future 2nd (Adelaide) for future 2nd (different club)

then

Future 2nd (different club) to Adelaide for pick 33

Is that possible?

So future 3rd (Brisbane) and 36 for 33? I mean it’s possible just not advisable…

Developing ruckman is Aiden Begg, we also have Cameron as first choice ruck backup to Grundy, and l think Cox will be retained on a one year deal...
Begg is a forward/ruck at best, not a genuine first ruck. Cox on a one year deal is cover for next year but that doesn’t cancel the need for a developing ruck.

COLLINGWOOD

Picks:
36, 38, 40, 46, 48, 55, 58, 78, 79

List needs: There’s several chams for the Pies to fill, including a pure on-baller that can eventually replace Scott Pendlebury. But the forward line continues to be a concern for Collingwood fans. The Pies in 2021 were ranked last for total inside 50s, third-last for scoring and fifth-last at scoring from their entries. And when the ball ventured into the Pies’ forward half, it didn’t last long in there, generating the fewest forward-half stoppages and the second-fewest forward-half intercepts. So not only do they need players who can hit the scoreboard, they need pressure forwards that can help the Pies play the modern forward-half game.

Who the club should target with its first pick: Collingwood will match an early bid on father-son gun Nick Daicos, who’ll slot right into the Magpies’ on-ball brigade after averaging a NAB League-high 36 disposals this season. Should a bid come at Pick 2, the Pies’ first four picks will be wiped and its fifth will be shuffled around. It means the Pies probably won’t be picking until the third round – but that’s where their Next Generation Academy prospect Youseph Dib could come into calculations. He’s only 174cm, but Dib could help fill the small forward hole at Collingwood as he applies terrific defensive pressure and has a knack for the goals.

Begg might be 200cm now but I still don't think he'll be a ruckman unless he shoots up another couple of inches, more likely to KPP or forward-ruck with his mobility.

Dont think we got him to be a ruck. Forward/ruck more like it. Similar role to Luke Jackson.

It seems we have settled on Krueger and McMahon as our main Key Forwards going forward, I think Begg would be a much needed developing defender

For now I'd assume that they would still be looking at him up forward - with a view to a second ruck role. Bloody tough gig though, so to me there's a fair chance he ends up being trialled in defence - where he looks to have the attitudes and attributes from the brief highlights.

Neither have played a senior game for us and we’re settled on them? Ok then…

I’m hoping we’re adopting a 3 tall forwards structure. Cameron, Checkers and Johnson/Kreuger in the seniors with Johnson/Kreuger, McMahon and Begg developing at VFL level.

Kelly and Keane in defense and I hope we pick up another KPD.

I see Begg as a Luke Jackson type, that will support Grundy in ruck then play predominantly forward, maybe 60/40 split.

Tough role. Most are either poor at one or often both of those tasks.
Yeah, it is tough, and not everyone can do it. I've seen his goal kicking, its pretty good. We can only hope for the best he can suceed, whatever role they have for him.

Agree with this. Thought his highlights screamed key back.
