List Mgmt. 2021 NAB National AFL Draft

We should be recruiting mega fans of Collingwood. If they're talented enough, of course. Look at Trenna, he was the biggest Collingwood fan growing up. Comes to Collingwood to live out a dream. Provided they are talented and they get opportunity, fans are some of the best recruits. Less likely to leave as they love the club, idolise the senior players, etc.

To be honest I don’t think it would be of the slightest consideration for our list management. Nor should it.

Makes for a nice feel good story and that’s about it IMO.

Regardless it would be absolutely luck if they were considering several equally talented kids for a selection and one just happened to be a club supporter. Even then I’d think there was more important things to consider.

Love to see a system implemented where all clubs can nominate one talented fan each draft, same drafting rule applies as FS rule. Obviously clubs would only nominate if it fits a need.

Under that system, we could have had Logan McDonald, Naughton (could have had it otherwise but they chose wrong)

Watched a few draftee videos again and desperately need longer videos to actually determine who can and can't do what...

Get on here and at least have a watch of the rep games. Particularly the VM vs VC game.

AFL have finally got their act together and put them online in the one area as a resource for draft interested fans… although still missing the first trial game.

I’m working my way through them again.

Just getting reminded about how much I rate Zac Taylor as one of smartest and most classy players in the draft pool. I compare him to players like Zac Butters and Zac Bailey (which is massively ironic).

Likely to go early to mid 20’s IMO, but somehow I’d love to get him.

Heard Sam Banger Banks on SEN this morning. Sounds like a ripper. Shifter Sheahan says he is the best kick in the draft. He is a 187 rebounding half back who thinks his game is similar in style to Jaidyn Short
Would be a good fit for us if he slides in to 40”s

Rebounding in the sense that he has wheels? We can’t afford any more slower mid-sized types.

Any rumours regarding adding Ben Quaynor to the rookie list if he doesn’t get picked in the National Draft?

Not sure.

I’m fairly confident that was him in those training photos the other day.

Maybe he was just taking the opportunity to train with his brother, some of our young guys and another nga prospect in Dib.

To be honest I don’t know much more about him other than he plays at Beverley Hills (where his brother and Tom Phillips played).

Looked a bloody decent size though.

The conspiracist in me might think we’ve hidden him away to add him as a rookie or something.

What about this bloke or his half brother Dimple Grants?

Kudos to his parents, Grouse!!

Hmm reminds me of an episode of Yes Minister.

His middle name is Glen surely

Collingwood
Draft picks: 36, 38, 40, 46, 48, 55, 58, 78, 79

List needs: Key defender, key forward, ruckman, goalkicking forwards

Who could be available at first pick: Nick Daicos (matched bid)

Could be in the mix after that: Youseph Dib (NGA), Oscar Adams, Lukas Cooke, Jack Briskey, Sam Skinner

The Pies have holes across the ground but securing No.1 pick contender Daicos as a father-son will ease the pain. His expected top-three bid is set to wipe out their first four selections, but the Pies should still be able to match a bid for tough utility Dib, who caught the eye as a small forward for Collingwood’s VFL side. The club also has Bassirou Faye, an athletic ruckman from Senegal, who will sit outside the list on an international rookie scholarship. Collingwood’s key position stocks are lacking but it may struggle to find any late in the piece in a draft light on talls. Could key defender Adams and high-impact tall forward Cooke – who both stood out for South Australia in their final national carnival clash - be in the frame? Briskey, a 20-year-old key forward from the Lions Academy – trained with the Magpies during the pre-season in pursuit of a supplemental selection spot, while delisted Lion Skinner dazzled in his new role as an intercept key defender in the SANFL.

Ease up on the Banks hype train as the first fully fledged member I don’t want it too crowded! How’s about Goater’s rise in Draft Central’s rankings? It’s about time he’s made it into the top 10 conversation although Ward’s slide is a melon scratcher. Did lol as well Carlthetruth with Cal Twomey knowing what he’s on about! You had me on Knightmare overrating certain guys up to that point.

Who wrote this garbage? I can’t be sure, but it reads as a Jon Ralph special linking us to a bunch of NQR talls with late picks. Given when we enter the draft the focus will need to be on traits not role so speed, skill, ball handling, tackling etc. 2022 is the draft to consider needs.

Just click bait from a couple of their young ‘draft experts’

Apparently we need a ruckman after trading Lynch and still having Grundy...............

Apparently we need a ruckman after trading Lynch and still having Grundy...............
you always need a young developing ruck, no matter who your first ruck is given how much time they take to develop

Apparently we need a ruckman after trading Lynch and still having Grundy...............
With Lynch gone we could use a backup genuine first ruck, be it a state leaguer or a young one in development.

Oh gee that's just cruel, you can't do that to poor Jen2310 even if she has now moved on... :grimacing:
