How is this guy not in our leadership group?

The fact he wasn’t given the captaincy straight after his 2014 best and fairest speech will always be a shame

The only debate RE TEX this year is if he is taking the spot of a kid.

If Himmelburg/Thilthorpe/Fog etc etc are kicking bags in the SANFL and Tex is doing SFA in the seniors, then absolutely Lets move him on.

This kind of goes without saying for any players, right?

Fog has a pretty poor history in the SANFL.

My guess is that he gets given the first 3 games in the seniors, still doesn't show anything, gets sent to the SANFL, still doesn't show anything, and gets taken over by Thilthorpe.

Tex was ok but you have to think it may have ultimately affected his output on field whereas Talia’s output most likely wouldn’t have been as affected, Talia also being his own man and not a Ricciuto apostle may have also played a role

I doubt that very much.

PW mentioned Tex was the only guy who asked what he could do better for the team. Based on his 15-17 output it's hard to argue.

From there both he and Talia fell away.

Shame the man who oversaw almost all of the horrendous decisions hasn't left and has received very little public criticism...

Thought Jack watts was famously held back for a fair while. I doubt he played round 1 after being drafted.

He rather famously debuted in the Queen's Birthday match against Collingwood and did SFA.

Doedee (c), ROB and McPherson would be my leadership group from 2022 onwards. Maybe Matt in there too if he stays.

My memory isn't great and i could be completely wrong, but wasn't there some fuss at one point about AFC memorabilia being removed from walls cabinets etc around the club? Something about not living in the past? May have been around Phil Walsh's time?

I think that is true. I also seem ton recall that a bit of McLeod's comments were around that. He would walk in the club and see nothing of the past and feel like he never existed.

I recall Phil Walsh wanted more photos of teams up on the walls, rather than individual players, as it was all about 'team' success, not individual success.

So far this PS, neither of those two have happened.

Tex will be the first one to tell selectors to play one of the younger players if they are doing well. Let's hope we have pressure on for spots.
