I used to ask people why they'd give money to the Bush family crime syndicate or some other sleazy proto fascist dictators when they'd rack up.

Its a brutal industry, we like to say that about footy but its just a metaphor in sport.

Back when youtube first started Los Zetas would post executions (that lasted about a week) then the lead up to executions on their channel. Guys in balaclavas carrying assault rifles with someone sitting down, their hands and feet zip tied and looking either very scared or very defiant. It was disturbing stuff. (Not as bad as the people who'd share videos of sniper's shooting terrorists in Afghanistan but its all the same ball park and the Zetas were formed by former US trained mexican military so they all learned about modern propaganda together.)

If you are into hip hop Peruvian Cocaine, by immortal technique is pretty good. Pulls no punches.

Wel off track here, but thoughts on legalisation and taxing its sale? I don't know enough to make any bold statements, but do wonder if it would work.

Yuck
Us
in: CCJ, 47
Out: Taz + 40
then
tigers
out 26 + 40+38
IN pick 17.
Is more likely IMO.
this seems fair. Dont understand how richmond think they should take the high ground. Otherwise we walk ccj to pre season draft and also take free agency compo for tarrant. Those tigers are special breed thats for sure

That's what I am worried about. He might be open to negotiate to any club
We are the only ones to offer his this contract. I would say there are little clubs who can afford the deal. Frankly I don’t even care if we sign him. If he come across cool if he doesn’t that’s cool too

They aren’t taking any high ground . There’s none to take for them. I think it’s more us pissed off re Tarrant

Realistically those are two separate trades, Tigers would want to make it out like one three-way trade to look like CCJ out, 17 in. If we are happy with a slight 3rd downgrade to get it done, whatever they do afterwards isn't really our concern.

Hmm. 28,40,42 is 1501 points vs pick 17's 1025. It's 3 picks still which I think is an issue seeing as it probably still wont be enough to fully cover Darcy, But it would be a deal that only sees us move from 40 to 47.

That might very well be the basis of the deal, and it's a hell of a lot more attractive than what I guessed. I wonder how many live picks Richmond and WB actually want to take this year.

I will devastated if pick 20 is involved in any way shape or form
I have 2 slabs riding on this with Tiger smart arse mates who said 20 and something coming back to us will be the deal. They were confident, as if they knew
If they are proven right I will vomit .

A great poster once provided a comprehensive list of reasons to trade Pick 1. It was such a powerful list, that no more trades involving Pick 1 have since been floated on this board.

I believe we now need a list for entertaining Pick 20 in trades for CCJ…

There is a limit of 200 points max a team can make on trades like these.
To stop teams stockpiling picks for these bids.
How you get around it is throw a future pick in which has no points allocated to it yet.
The dogs will want a pick they can split again for value.
So those mid 20s picks of Richmond will be on the table.

Second rounder priority pick (a man can dream dammit!) and we get GC's 19?

That's really the only scenario where I see us being happy about doing it (and given the mountains of leverage we have I don't think we do a deal unless we're genuinely happy with it). Even then it's purely if it's a trade INVOLVING pick 20 rather than it being outright 20, which is ludicrous of Richmond to even dream of.

Any PP would have been provided already if it was coming. We can assume that it was applied for, ignored by AFL House, and no status update given.

Im still dreaming of
19(PP) + 20(GC swap) + 21 (our pick) + 22(Dumont compo)

Why wouldn’t we offer him more money over the 2 years? Or is it purely years the concern for him? We have shit load of cap space who cares

I recall when we demanded 2 first round picks for premiership player Ben Brown on BF i do mean

CCJ- this is all posturing, we won't pay overs for his services. We hold the whip hand as they say. And if we don't want to pay off pick 19 over the next three years I'm fine with that as well.

Moving forward a couple of seasons will be interesting watching CCJ, Comben, Larkey and Edwards go about it. I really hope we don't "CCJ " ourselves with either Comben or Edwards.

And the talk of Xerri moving on I don't blame him he aint getting a game anytime soon.
