How has the GWS coach stayed in a job - he has had so many top ten draft picks and never got them to perform to the level expected.
He has to be dumped this year , having Whitfield - pick 1 , Cameron , Patton - pick 1 , Boyd - pick 1 , Kelly - pick 2 , Taranto - pick 2 , Hopper - pick 7 , Coniglio - pick 2 , Pickett - pick 4 , Ahern - pick 7 , Ash - pick 4 and players like Adams , Treloar , Steele -- the list is long.

We thought we had a problem with our few top end draft picks GWS and Suns have had the cream for years and have totally blown it - Suns have picked some good ones but they just don't stay there.

So an article without even a mention of "sources close to the club......", "club officials who wish to remain anonymous...."

Nice little smokescreen being put down by the club - done deal - Parker to Saints!!!!
Why aren’t we looking at Hewitt?
Zippy mid, but like jones

Some good Saints stuff of G. Young, he was silk

Did you attend the Collingwood game at Moorabbin, must have been mid to late seventies?
Huge crowd.
Brilliant game.
Essentially a goal for goal race between George Young and Fabulous Phil Carman. I think George kicked about 8, Fabulous kicked a little more - maybe 10.
That was the day Young became my hero.
And only surpassed by the arrival of my (I wish) love child, Lenny.

You can’t keep hanging onto players, in a fit side he will be starting at Sandy. He has showed what he can do so why not cash in on him now. Late 2nd rnd/ Early 3rd?

Because no one would pay that for an injury prone 28 year old. May as well keep him

I was there but was young
My Dad spoke about this game for years and years He just loved George Young

Jordan Dawson to the cats..??
Would be huge…and seems likely considering swans cap issues..would be nice in our backline but we already have a few like him

Someone said it on here the other day , last year we tried to get Caldwell and Draper which shows the age of player they are aiming at.
Picking up Crouch most probably was a free hit trade wise and a upgrade to our midfield.
I wouldn't be surprised they are aiming at a kid in the draft they really want and rate highly and will be willing to move up in the draft to secure it.
Parker , Talia or a Matt Crouch would only be looked at if we got them chip as chips.

Having players from other clubs put the word around how the atmosphere at the is club would be a breath of fresh air from where they once were.
Having a coach like Ratten who wouldn't be overbearing and calls a spade a spade would attract players to the club.

The strides this club has made since Lethlean has arrived is club altering , having a CEO as President a quality coach supported by the right people in Rath , Roughead and co.
They have stripped the team and rebuilt it to be young and strong in such a short time we know have very few players on the list that you say are not up to it and we continue the cull this year with Roberton , Frawley , McKernan , Carlisle etc.
Yes we may have 1 or 2 (Alabakis) where before it was more like 10 or more depending on your view , we are even bold enough to make a call on players we think will not take us forward like in the Dunstan case.

We all know lists are ever evolving but we are just about there and boy it's taken a long time to get it right.

Hasn’t Dawson already signed a 2 year deal with the swans last week?

I wonder then if they will look at a Lipinski or Hewitt?
