I wish. Dream job that one.

And he does it extremely well imo, and i dare say most footy fans opinions.

Yes, he is a stinking * fan and writes a lot of * articles. But then again, Riley Beveridge is a stinking Carlton fan and writes a lot of Carlton articles. Both Clubs are part of the Big 4 who make and create a lot of footy news.

I understand Ninja Warrior's off the cuff frustration. If we had our way, * would be out of the comp and an embargo placed on their name even being uttered lol.

But really, in a big cesspool of footy clickbait and rubbish journalism, Twomey and also Beveridge are godsends in the actual footy journalism content they provide. News, opinion and debate they provide. Easily the best in the biz. They leave the rest in the dust for credibility.

Rookie Me guys have done a bang up job on their draft guide. 146 pages of it.

Can someone tell me the logic of trading up in this year's draft when A we don't have to and B giving up a prime asset in probably next year's FRP in a better draft from all reports ?
Are we able to trade next year's first into this year, then 2024 first into 2023, and then possibly have later picks if F/S Camporeales come good as worthy picks in 2024?

I like the idea of that but looking at who holds those second round picks I can’t see any realistic reason why anyone would trade for our future second rounder until possibly GWS at pick 31

Fair, I’m thinking our best chance could actually be the dons if a bid for Davey comes in the 15-20 range which would mean they would have to use their pick (22) on him and they won’t want to do this so it could be an opportunist moment for us to take advantage of. I’m sure they would also want some other pic shuffles, but this could present the best chance of us getting another pic exactly where we want it.

Why stop with 2024 into 2023? Just keep on going that way until the AFL wise up which would probably be in a couple of hundred years time.

The slippery slider:

Hypothetically if Mackenzie is the one to slide I’d think this could create the scenario where we opt to slide for 2 pics in the teens as we have a number of players who play this role already and we could grab two strong options with these picks and there will be clubs very keen to trade up and grab him, where as If Phillipou is the one to slide I think we’d jump on him as he’s got a point of difference vs our current mid mix. Saints probably have the choice between these two, will be interesting to see which way they go. You’d imagine the go the Pou based on their lack of star power and X factor.

Mackenzie is St Kilda NGA.

Not sure if that sways them at all...

Not sure you've posted it recently but how do you see the Top 11 going at this stage?

Cadman, Wardlaw/Sheezel seem likely to be the first 3, along with Ashcroft

At that point, it seems * and GC will shape the exact order of the next dozen picks

Someone like Hollands could be selected at 5, or still on the board at 14

Tsatas similar, pick 4 or 10

Neither ur favourite players but if you're choosing between Tsatas and Hollands at 11 who are you taking Arrow?

The more I read, the more I watch... The more I hope Phillipou is still on the board at our first pick. The x-factor is undeniable, the last time we took a punt on that it turned out to be Charlie Curnow I reckon. A few differences in the player there however.

If not, split it (looking at you GWS / West Coast) and seeing who's still available out of the likes of Jefferson / George / Hewett / Hotton / Hayes / Allan and maybe even Darcy Jones, amongst others.

There's a bit of even talent around that 10-20 (even perhaps 25) mark this year. Would love for us to capitalise on that, and I feel like this is the first draft in a long time where we can have a real crack at doing that, and not just draft out of necessity.

Agree after the first 5, the remainder are potentially good young players with some deficiencies that need to be sorted out, as always fundamental barometers should be football skill & IQ.
We're in excellent hands, I've full confidence in Nick and team to bring in a few solid young prospects with propensity to improve.
Go Blues
