Out: picks 10, f1, 66, 68, Setterfield. could even add Dow to the trade.Just can't see how we would get ourselves high enough for Sheezel. Our pick 11 this year + a future first imo would not be enough to get pick 3-4 this year.
Meh, fair call on your behalf, Scully not for me though. Has great 18 results but I think the days of the lumbering ruck are done. His kicking and disposal are weak. He kicked lots of goals from close and in the AFL, the opposition will be way bigger, he’ll get rag dolled. Lemmey appeals to me for his size, mobility and skill. I see him as a big Lukosious. Could see him as excellent depth as he develops then be a future dominating piece up forward. Scully is just big and bullied the smaller kids. I see the TDK type as the future ruck.Because Lemmey reminds me of a Jack Watts type whereas we might just need patience with Tom Scully.
Interesting take. Barnett a ruck with traits that could equate to KPP. Foster a forward/ruck, no defensive time.Another at the back end of the 2nd, early 3rd.
Busslinger, Hayes, Barnett, Foster all ahead of him as KPDs
We might just need patience with Tom Scully.
I find it difficult to see what Hollands would add to our list, both Cerra & Walsh will play that similar role for some time, Hotton looks good but also feel we drafted Motlop last year and would back in Durdin/Motlop strong improvement in the 12-24 months.Interesting take. Barnett a ruck with traits that could equate to KPP. Foster a forward/ruck, no defensive time.
Van Es is not a game day eye catcher, he is a solid defender, but is actually what I believe we need. We do not need frontline key forwards or key defenders at this stage. Harry and Charlie 24/25 y.o. with long term contracts, locked for 6/7 years. Weiters similar age and Young even younger. We are covered, but we need to find some quality depth.
Weiters and Young are arguably better suited to intercept roles (although Young is supreme at the late spoil). Loving the athletic profile of Van Es. Speed and “hops” a great combination for a key defender. He projects as a Harrison Petty type, largely unheralded in the vaunted Demons outfit beside higher profile May and Lever, but an integral link in that defensive chain. Traits to negate the growing number of athletic 200cm key forwards. At worst becomes solid depth at a bargain price to complement or succeed S.Durdin in the role in a year or three.
I know I am ultra conservative, but would love this draft to give us our young keys. Depth being the fallback, but players who could conceivably be quality first 22 players. The other bloke named in @Arr0w’s post in Phoenix Foster is a quality forward/ruck in my opinion (National draft invitee) who I would love beside a Van Es type to balance our list for the foreseeable future.
I am not excited by hypothetical trades of future premium picks to attempt to get the likes of Sheezel. If an x-factor forward type is the desire, there are options. I have been told we rate Hotton at our first pick, I am unsure of how he rates with our recruiters beside my “favourites” Phillipou and Hollands. If we want that x-factor forward/hybrid, it may be worth considering Brayden George with our second, despite him having to sit out most or all of next year with an ACL.
I am sure my views will conflict with most who are desperate for a multitude of shiny new toys, but in the event Setters, and Paddy both received trades and we had four reasonable picks I would like to see.
10. Phillipou/Hollands/Hotton
Thereafter
Best available or George if we want that forward type
Foster
Van Es
Drafting to consolidate our base. I believe we already have the players to win premierships, so it is about “future proofing”
All subsequent drafts are then about “best available” (bearing in mind father/sons) and progression planning.

West Coasts pick is a hot chance if thats what Austin's set on and their deal with North/Port doesn't get across the line. There'll be absolute zero chance of getting up to 4, especially when it's held by *. No point even discussing. Agree with Pablito No point over capitalising. Stick with 10. Address needs. maybe split on the night. Only if we get good deal our way.
Good question. If we offered our pick 10 and a future first rounder would that be enough? If not, what more do you think we'd need to add? Please don't say Cripps, Mckay, Curnow or whatever... what's a fair price?Hey Guys, had a blues supporter come onto our board yesterday saying the blues could be interested in Sheezle and acquiring our pick 2 to get him.
Is this any possibility and if so how would you guys see the blues positioning themselves to grab pick 2?
Lol no I was trying to ask a legitimate question I know Cripps ect wouldn’t be part of it.Good question. If we offered our pick 10 and a future first rounder would that be enough? Would trade a future 2nd, for an early 2nd in this year's draft, rather than trading 2 1sts to get into pick 4 or 5 this year
That turns into 6 though and it's unlikely that Sheezel makes it that far. Perhaps a draft night deal if he somehow slips past * and GC willing to take that. I think West Coast would be a higher chance given they've expressed interest in trading backThey’re about to get pick 5 via the Rankine deal.
I see a clear path for us to move up to that pick by offering 10 and either a points swap in their favour, or our 2023 2nd.

Not as convinced with Sheezel as I have been on others... but if Austin and the team are willing to move heaven and earth to get to him clearly they've thought things through.Doesn’t have to be our final move. We can go again in the next few days or on draft night.
Could be good for both clubs if Will Setterfield wanted to head west, but I’ve heard nothing to suggest that.Lol no I was trying to ask a legitimate question I know Cripps ect wouldn’t be part of it.
Guess 8 & 12 is the starting point Port/Nth have put our there. Eagles want more just wondering if there was a way the blues could beat it?
I think 8 & 12 and a late first or early future 2nd might get it done maybe 26 or 38 going back…. Just wondering what the blues might be able to package up
GC apparently have 2 academy prospects next year and are looking for additional points.

More importantly as none of us are in control of list management decisions... How do you think Sheezel would fit in with our forward line Arr0w?They actually look like having 3 in the 1st round. Would still prefer to hang onto our future 1st
If anything, would prefer to trade back slightly or add a early 2nd rounder

Motlop Mckay Fisher
Sheezel Curnow Durdin
An interesting mix
Motlop and Sheezel as specialist goal kickers does sound tantalizing. Just don't see us making it up that high in the draft even if we wanted to.Exactly the type we need, but similar, lesser types through the draft
Patience?!? Tom Scully turns 32 next year FFS!
