Don't think they will place all AFLW members in one place.
Hope not anyhow. Everyone has a different idea of what constitutes a good seat. Also other issues by doing it this way

I would think the majority of AFLW members also have the men's membership. So, just sit in your normal seats.
**I imagine any AFLW member that is not a men's member will have to book a free ticket

It will be much easier to sell vacant spots once the men's non AFLW members get their chance to get tickets
Assuming they (men's) get first go before the general public.

Then ticketmaster know exactly what seats available to sell to the general public for both the ladies and men's game.

Only guessing until the club advises all members how tickets will be allocated

**EDIT: Just checked AFLW membership. Looks like you can only get it as an add on to men's membership
So if that is correct makes it a little easier

My take is based on season ticket holder for the second game. I'd rather sit in same place for both games instead of sitting somewhere else for AFLW, going back to my reserved seat later and having to potentially clean up someone else's mess over there before sitting down for the second game. :p

Looking at my lions app, I'll have my normal allocated seat for both games.

Agree
But you suggested "open up a separate section for AFLW only members."

Same with mine.
Are you an AFLW member as i am
If yes we need someone that is not an AFLW member to check their tickets
If you are not an AFLW member it means they have decided to give the men's membership a free ticket to the ladies game

I am a Lions Member for the Mens only and I have just had a look, my tickets now say Double header starting at 3.10pm.

Yep, that's the easiest way I could think of to give the men's season ticket holders their standard seats. If there is a casual viewer bay, open it up so AFLW only fans can watch from there. Easy to separate out the allocation.

Looks like the argument is a bit redundant now since AFLW membership can only be purchased as add-on to AFL standard membership apparently (mentioned in the earlier post)

Lion Emily Bates has been crowned the News Corp AFL Women’s Player of the Year, pipping Adelaide ballwinner Ebony Marinoff by just one vote.

Bates, who has emerged as a key contender for the league best and fairest award after a stellar season at finalist Brisbane, was named the best player in the sixth AFLW competition by News Corp reporters at games across the season.

The two-time All-Australian earlier this season credited key lifestyle changes for her step up to becoming one of the top players in the competition, citing scrapping desserts and sauces as one step to the top.

Pffft... overrated.
Sarah Black didn't pick her in her top 30 AFLW players for 2022.

question, did the girls ever receive there 2021 Aflw premiership rings? Never saw a post about it or anything. Noticed there was some article about it for every other season. Someone told me that due to afl cost cutting they did not commission rings last season.

This would be so unfair if true

Reigning AFLW premiers Brisbane Lions lead all-comers with five players in this year’s 22under22 squad.

Nat Grider, Jade Ellenger, Jesse Wardlaw, Courtney Hodder and Tahlia Hickey have all been nominated, underscoring the potency of the Lions side.

The squad, comprised of players under 22 years of age for the entirety of the AFLW season and who have played 50 per cent of matches this season, is selected by the AFL Players’ Association with support from Champion Data, with fans able to vote on the final teamuntil March 22.

Collingwood’s preparations for their knockout AFLW final against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday have been impacted by the unavailability of a number of players, after they entered COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

The Magpies are working with the AFL to determine what arrangements can be made to play the final at the Gabba on Saturday, as the number of players that the club has available moves close to the minimum of 16.

Hopefully they are allowed to grab some players from the local leagues if need be
You can't plan for everything.
The finals just have to go on as scheduled.
If it is us affected in the next few weeks so be it

Could be an issue. Hopefully the game can still go ahead. The women have had changes during their season to accommodate covid, but not sure if you can continue to do it during finals.
Don't see the difference between H & A and finals the way the ladies competition has been run during the season
It gave the AFL something to think about hence a top-up list for the men's games this year
Other ladies teams may have made the finals if not affected by covid during the year
As such the Pies may have finished 7th or lower

Game postponed :(

I have a horrible gutfeel that if it had happened to us and the game was a curtain raiser for a Collingwood game at the MCG, we would've had to play with topups.

Bet it gets moved to mid week than who ever wins has to play the Dees after only a few days break. What happens if they can’t get the game played before next weekend when the PF are to be played?
