Agree its a puff piece but if we are taking other things from it then what it says about pendles should be also consideredThe article was a puff piece that didn't really say anything other than they wanted to play a blend of mids with different strengths and rotate more players through there. If they are seriously going to play a bigger rotation - Pendles is the most likely to see significantly reduced stoppage time from previous years, due to the stage of his career and Daicos and Lipinski likely to be viewed as offering similar stoppage strengths, I think the article also suggested Maynard and Crisp also for the same spot within the midfield- and also because Jen is saying that he's not seeing much stoppage action throughout preseason. We'll find out soon, but Im expecting that Pendles will start the season mainly not in the centre square. Injuries, form etc are pretty likely to see things change though
I think the main thing however to take Pendles largely out of the midfield after he has been its main pillar for so long seems drastic. ND and Lippa and no and very little CS experience at AFL level respectively so I would expect them to be secondary players for 22 until they show they can handle the role. Cant see them being considered Pendles stoppage equals at this point.
