There was some talk of him having a deal for next year, but don't think there was any official post about it. Nothing about a 2 year deal. Tbh, while I've always appreciated him (more than some others), I think giving him (+ his body) any more than 1 year deals is unjustified. But happy to do that (1 year) off the back of this year, and even next if he got through most of a season.
All I could find is a newscorpse article saying he had signed for 2023 but with no mention of the length. I thought I had read somewhere he had signed for 2 years? Maybe I dreamed it...

Please remember for those drafted at the end of 2019 or just one or two seasons in the NEAFL in 2018 or 2019.

Games per year

VFL 2021- 10
NEAFL 2020 - 0

All players progress at different stages and not playing is the biggest hindrance. Training is good, playing is great.

How many players has been cut with very few chances to improve or stalled their progression but are still on lists.

I want to keep both Amartey and McLean.

McLean classic FF, great for a bailout kick, can also cover ground, is a bit underrated in that respect, but it's not his bread and butter.

McDonald is largely playing FF at the moment but it's not his strength, he looks better as a true CHF. See him taking on Buddy's role more and more.

Amartey as a mobile third tall/chop-out ruck to round out our 2024 forwardline sounds good to me.

If a star FF or Luke Jackson type decides they want to come to the club this season then sure, we can look for opportunities for McLean or Amartey, but no rush, they're contracted and I suspect they'll get chances next year.
Agree 100%

Reckon that Jack graham isn’t a bad player

Tigers moving him on

I was laughing about this when I first heard it. His deal with the Swans(as father son) was if he was drafted outside Victoria, then he would be open to Sydney drafting him.
Now off to Briso.
He has a bit of mercenary about him like Mitchell. More about him than team type of goals in his footy. Good luck Brisbane making him work for you rather than him.
It's hard to know the exact truth around the Dunkley situation.

On his YouTube channel Dunkley seemed to give the impression that the Swans were actually the ones to pass on him as he thought he was going to Sydney. Maybe we didn't like the lack of commitment on his end as his preference was to stay in Victoria, as is well documented.

I also don't blame him for leaving the Bulldogs either as I heard he was hazed/bullied quite a bit by Dahlhaus and Liberatore when he first arrived at the club. The Dogs still seem to be a bit of a basket case now because on paper I actually think they have the most enviable list in the competition (aside from our own) and they had an absolute shocker this year.

Dunkley's a great get for the Lions though, I just don't know how they will trade him in and also draft two highly rated father son prospects in Ashcroft and Fletcher.

Hopefully, the Swans can take advantage of some of the desperate clubs looking for extra picks to match points and facilitate trades. Otherwise, I'm happy to have two stabs in the teens and potentially draft at least one rock solid player to last the next decade. Our last premiership draft yielded Dean Towers though so who knows what'll happen.

The bulldogs will always be a mediocre club that cheated to win a flag.

These two have apparently have form with this, along with Stringer.

Let me know when you lot get back to discussing SWANS Trade and drafting...
Way ahead of you.

caesar88 I think I've got a Ryan O'Keefe chip lying around somewhere.

Trade you that for one of your finest ham & cheese toasties.

If Ronke wanted to move on what # would he be worth?

Upgrade of a 4th maybe. Side like Carlton might be interested. Our 4th plus Ronke for their 4th. Basically a throwaway pick but if we can upgrade in the 3rd or 4th that’s solid

How many points are you allowed to gain when trading picks.

Is it 100 points or 200 points.

I am thinking about Brisbane.

Never know a late swap is potential. It’s at best though

North should be trying to offload those picks to anyone willing to talk to them. Maybe we can grab the second rounder for Ronke.
