Yeah, he has played some good games on the wing.
Could this be why they delisted Poulter?

Either way, we'll know if we will nominate him in a few days.
His agility is way beyond Poulter and boy, he's got some serious wheels

Problem with that is that they're still open to phone calls from other clubs right up to pick 25, so I don't think they'd do that. It would need to include them getting pick 16.

I'm not saying it will be us, but I won't be surprised at all if Essendon do trade upwards with a pick swap during the draft. We might be willing to do something like pick 16 for 22 and their future second - don't know. But the closer it gets to pick 22, if Davey is still there, the more likely it is that a club would tell them that they're about to pick Davey, but would be happy to swap their pick for 22 and a future pick.
Thx Gotcha,
Tough one, drop 6 spots but receive a future 2nd. I suppose it really depends on how high we rate the kids this year with our first pick @ 18ish Vrs next year which is supposed to be a superior draft.

16 for 22 and a future first swap would be a ballsy bet - if you're backing them to be shit again and us to be good again.

It is his pace I think, plenty of toe and looks like he can finish also, just needs to go unnoticed at the draft combined and we have picked worse rookies than he would be.
He said no other club has interviewed him, so think he will go undrafted and then we can get him in the rookie draft. Then we can end up with 4 players and only using 3 senior spots.

It is obvious he has some skill and I would say he knows it too and would not be averse to letting others knowing it also. If we got Hayes with our 1st pick I would be happy to get either George or the SA kid Majot with 2nd pick and then 1of Keeler,Lemmey or Bartnett as our 3rd that would be ideal.

I think either George or SA kid will be an fine replacement for Henry longterm.

I think he showed more in the VFL than young Riley did, do you have idea on how big roo is going, I have not seen anything since an early match when he looked quite handy against Ned Moyle.s younger brother.

He did only get 5 touches in that one nab league game playing ruck. I'd like to see him play more. But other than that, he hasnt attended too many training ssessions this year. Sometimes a captains run, or a main session once or twice. I have seen on insta that he spends a lot of his time with a personal trainer in a gym.

So Ashwin gives us our 2 cat B's?
Murley gives us 6 Cat A's?
Noble upgrade gives us 32 on the primary list with 4 spots left or have we upgraded Ginni leaving 3 spots on primary?

Richmond is going to take one of Scully or Lemmey if available at their first selection (I feel like the expectation is both will be, given Twomey didn't rate them in his Top 30). Barnett, based on the same guide, should be available for us as well as Keeler.

One I really like the look of is Ethan Phillips. He's a mature ager but a good mark down in defence. We could always swing him forwards (like with Mihocek) and have an extra tall. 196cm is difficult to ignore and he offers something. He's got the VFL experience so is ready to take to an AFL field.

George hates a celebration & he stuck it to #19 after kicking a goal which I'm not big on.
Clearly has talent

I like players who celebarate, but the video was all marking contests and set shots. He doesn't look big enough to be relaint just on that, what's his ground level game like?

We usually dont upgrade rookies ahead of the time, so I think we will leave Ginni on the rookie list until next year.
But thats correct. Would fill up the 2 Cat B spots, 6 Cat A's upgrade Noble leaving us with 4 senior spots.

I like celebrating but not sticking it up the oppo with his arm as he did, just me.

Retention is not great for me 36 and I can't remember seeing him play in the little amount of live games I've watched for the year anyway.
I believe he is very good at ground level only based on what I've read.

Articles:

At 185cm, he presents as a slightly taller target with his explosive athleticism and clean hands overhead, but can make defenders look silly at ground level with his goal sense. Able to convert from all angles and distances, the Murray Bushrangers talent could follow a similar path to Josh Rachele this year.

A strong-bodied, powerful forward, George plays a high impact-per-possession game. He hurts opponents by foot around the ground and does not need to find a lot of the ball to hit the scoreboard heavily. Proficient both overhead and at ground level, George is a marking threat one-on-one, aerially and on the lead, while at ground level he is a one-touch player and a powerful contested ball winner.

George missed most of the year with a torn meniscus, then came back and kicked 17 goals in 5 games, then did the ACL, he'll miss pretty much all of next year

This is not quite right. His 17 goals in 5 games were the first 5 games of the season, he then did his meniscus. After missing 10 weeks he returned and played half a game, then did his ACL in the second game back.

Sorry bro, I was going by distant memory, lol. The ACL is a bit of a worry

Re the bolded, Ed was rumoured to have had more influence than he should in bringing players like Beams #2 back to the club. But if he had any say in drafting - the mind is very boggled!!
He definitely had a big say in the Grundy contract too, he did a lot of great things for the club but clearly overstepped in the latter part of his tenure.
