I think this phantom draft was done in Nimbin during mushroom week

Just finished going through it. Real good information.

Looking at our talls:

Backs: Moore, Howe, Murphy, Frampton, Dean and Kelly = 6

Forwards: Checkers, McStay, Kreuger, Johnson = 4

Rucks: Cox, Cameron and Begg = 3

You’d think we’re ok for defenders but short on forwards even though the rucks probably rest forward. Depends where Kelly plays.

I’d still think out of the 4 picks we’re taking 2 minimum, more likely 3 as talls. The mix of best available may dictate where Kelly and Begg plays.

Cal Twomey said today he believes the Pies are actively trying to package some picks for a top 12 selection
He is not sure any takers at this stage though
Separately he did say Carlton might be open to trading 10 for 2 picks in top 25. Hard to see Blues dealing with pies though due to rivalry reasons

Hollands me thinks

Our best chance might be to trade in a 2023 second and trade out future first as it prob has extra currency with “super draft”

It looks like we might want Hewitt then, bloody hope so

Funny kicking style, not an amazing reader of the play, and Doesn’t play like his combine results suggest. So either he’s developed athletically for the combine (reach), doesn’t know how to fully use his strengths in games (possible), or has a lot of upside due to his athletic traits (also possible).

Still can’t believe the vertical jump and sprint results, as he looks heavy and a bit lumbering in highlights

Are we looking at the same kid??

If we trade out our future first just to move up in this draft, in the immortal words of Terry Wallace, “I’ll spew up!”.

We couldn’t be so idiotic not to have learnt our lesson after last time could we?

Might as well load up in this draft, I wouldn't worry about the super draft next year, once you go out the top 10, the rest won't be any more special than this draft and we won't have a pick next year till pick 18

Personally I couldn’t think of a worse decision for where our list is currently. And that’s assuming the future first is a mid first round pick.

God help us if we slide down the ladder again and we are giving up a top ten or worse pick.

It’s lunacy IMO.

NB. Next years draft is deeper than this one. Well outside the top 10.

No way I'm trading out our first next year, we only need another poor season as per 2021 with injuries to key personal & our first could end up being anywhere.
Next year is looking tougher with little separating the top sides & we have a tougher draw to boot

We aren’t trading our future first, so no point in stressing.

My man.

He even lists us as one of the clubs he was most impressed by during the interviews. Sounds like there is mutual interest.

Unfortunately it also sounds like there is also heaps of interest from other clubs.
