Richmond has shown the most interest in Scully.. Makes sense. But they wouldn't take both Scully and Lemmey I wouldn't think

Good to see Scully already in the gym 3 to 4 times a week with a focus to get bigger and stronger.

Shows he's not one of those guys who will shy away from the work and effort in the gym. Some players do sweet fa in the gym or do minimum lacking intensity.

I think that’s kind of the whole point IMO.

Beyond 2-3 years we only really have two proven key position players in Moore and McStay. With Moore being the only elite player.

Sure I’ve got high hopes for a few, (Frampton in particular) but that’s all it is. Hope.

Guys like Lemmey and Keeler, may well be busts, but their ceiling based on their performances is still ridiculously high.

Also given their respective draft positions I think they offer more almost more certainty than almost any other key position player taken so late in a draft before. Personally it’s way too attractive a proposition to completely dismiss.
I agree. KPFs are generally worse value however you acquire them - draft pick, trade or salary cap. But this year they sound better value in our draft range than normal. It's time to strike - if Dekka agrees that they're better value than normal - he might not rate these guys at all.

I think the point he making is

Pick 25 and 27 are two picks apart, you've got 4 blokes as ones you want for 25, yet don't seem to want any of them for 27.

That happens when people select a particular player you want which is a need.

When I read that I see they go one of those if available at 25 and then go tall on Keeler at 27 making a nod to the fact he won't be there later.

Richmond aren't silly, they are right into him. I can't overlook his 50 goals, he has really good hands and agility

I get that he's skinny, but I don't understand why he isn't rated higher. With his height, junior production and what you read and see about his ground level game and hands, surely he's an outstanding ruck prospect if he doesn't make it as a forward?

100% agree. I wish I knew the reasons why he's not rated

My guess is that he looks like a long term project, & clubs aren't prepared to wait for a player at Ruck height. (though I see this as a positive for a FF).
He had an indifferent 2nd 1/2 of the year and based on what I've read on R. Central, recruiters wernt happy that he was left out of 3 of the 4 nationals so they could compare him to other under 18 talent @ a higher level.
I'd have a stab with pick 51, stick him in the VFL to develop at FF & give him minutes in the ruck to help Begg out.

I want us to select him with 51 just to spite Richmond.

Given Dekka’s poor record at the draft maybe we should trade our first 3 picks to next year when hopefully we have someone else in charge

Harry Barnett

West Adelaide, ruck

GWS (15, 18, 19), Collingwood, Sydney or West Coast look likeliest to add the draft’s best under-18 ruckman late in the first round or early in the second.

Phoenix Foster

Norwood, forward/ruck

Hawthorn, which holds picks 41, 48, 50, 52 and 63 late in the draft, looks most likely. Port Adelaide and Geelong also have interest. Collingwood may consider him as a rookie.

Harry Lemmey

West Adelaide, forward/defender

Tipped to be taken around the 25 to 35 mark. Collingwood (25, 27), Carlton (29), Fremantle (30), Port Adelaide (33) and West Coast (26) are among those said to have some interest.

Jakob Ryan

Glenelg, defender

Red-hot mail has Collingwood snaring the peroxide blond backman with a mullet at 16. West Coast could take him if he was available at 20. Adelaide is believed to have shown interest but will need to trade a future selection to be a chance to nab him.

Will Verrall

South Adelaide, ruck

Melbourne, Geelong, Collingwood and Port Adelaide are believed to be interested in him as a potential rookie option.

Has us taking Jakob Ryan with our first.

Few differences at the top based on previous media phantoms.

Principally Jhye Clark. Who incidentally is the one IMO who should slip, if others rise, and I’m surprised this is the first time I’ve seen it happen in a prediction.

……………………….

“Collingwood has two second-round selections in quick succession (Picks 25 and 27). Exciting North Adelaide forward-ruck prospect Isaac Keeler, West Adelaide’s Harry Lemmey and shock 23-year-old bolter Joe Richards — a schoolteacher from Wangaratta and one of the Ovens and Murray Football League’s best players this year — have all been linked to the Magpies by rival clubs.“

Just get the kid.

Interesting to also read about how covid affected him during the year. (Much like has been rumoured with Lemmey).

For those worried about homesickness:

“I’m probably most likely going to be leaving WA and I welcome that prospect along quite well and my family have really adapted and absolutely excited for me to go wherever I am to follow my dreams since I was a kid,” he said. To play at the top level’s for me to be as competitive as I can, absolutely excited. My goal was set in the preseason trying to get myself to the top level to try and play as early as possible.”

Appears as if we are looking at a lot of ruck options late / rookie
Makes me think that they’ll be going w other picks for 16/25/27 so Barnett doesn’t appear to be in our thinking

probably in the case if Barnett is gone, we have to look at other options

I think GWS will take Clarke just before us, which would be a shame

Liam McMahon, had ability but not to put on weight, Scully same deal.

I'd lean towards us selecting Ryan, Lemmey, Richards, Noble upgraded for Murley, Wilson (re-rookied), add Ashwin as a Cat B?

Not the worst hand possible.
