Where’s the attitude problems come from?

If you listen to him speak he is probably the most professional of the whole draft crop. He even said himself he was probably trying to overdo his workload too much.

Also seems content moving. At a time when many draftees seem willing to openly state their preference to stay home.
I’ll see myself out when we select him tonight 😂

Probably send Matt Rowell and a box of Roses chocolates to them as a good luck gift. That pick 7 gift was madness
I only see the Pick 7 trade as madness if Bowes becomes a player - if Bowes doesn't have any impact as a player, then the Cats are effectively paying Pick7 in excess of $2M for the next 4 years and sustaining a list clogger. Only time will tell if that was a gift.

Grundy has better, aerobic capacity, mobility, and ground ball/stoppage impact than either. If he played in the PF, we win as others have said.

Massively debatable

He was the best ruckman in the comp in 2018 and injury free. Got pantsed in the Grand Final by Lycett

You think in his 2020-2022 form carrying a PCL he would have beat Hickey and helped us win?

Interesting

I think you could be thinking of Verrall he looked a good prospect, I have heard his name mentioned before re Collingwood.
I think Verrall could potentially be a good KPP with his leap & athletic traits. Would not mind if he is taken with our last
He had a very good year as an underager in 2021 to boot.

Go back - you’ll see this discussion started when I suggested Barnett would not be our first pick, as McCrae doesn’t rate a Ruckman as our Top priority.
I think fly rates Ruckman highly but not one that doesn't offer any marking power. Barnett looks every bit a potential KPP, he could easily play as a defender or forward. Barnett has much more versatility

Hine was asked about trading 16 into the top 10 or thereabouts and he more or less said it had proven impossible, with only some clubs having the currency to do so, i.e. Melbourne.

Surprisingly they didn't ask him about the potential of trading it backwards, because his answer IMO (and I could be reading too much into it) left it as an option.

What about 16, 25 and 27 to GWS for 18, 19 and 31...

(unless a genuine slider is sitting there at 16)

Edit: yes, I know the picks will have slid back by then

Hine is taking the best player, albeit tall or small.
Why not , it's always worked in the past for him:rolleyes:. I suppose you don't look as bad if you don't take a KPP and he doesn't make it as compared to taking a flanker who would be just another player on the scrap heap. We can only hope that the rest of the team have some input

Hine sounded pretty keen to get rid of 16. Mentioned a top group of 12 or so, but then later alluded to things evening up around pick 15 into the 20s.

Yep, that was my point RE my last post; he went from saying it was proving impossible to trade pick 16 up (especially without our F2&F3) and then went on to say 16 was essentially on the table... everything is on the table, pending offers.

That's probably to avoid taking Ryan with 16, everyone else seems to think 16 for Ryan is laughable

I think Derek is open to trading 16 or 27 into 2023 if the players he rates highly are gone by then. Said he has 4 or 5 in that first pick bracket, which includes Ryan… whilst also mentioning Weddle and Cowan

So we’re after a half-back… pick a bloody good one, Dekka.

You’d assume they’re 3 of the 5 he likes, but was cryptic by saying they’re all in a HBF group around the 15 - 20 range. but still wonder if he’s avoiding mentioning a player like Hayes for v good reason.

Interestingly, he also said that there is interest ahead of us in Ryan, so “it’s pretty hard to pick him if he’s already gone”. I’d be staggered if Ryan is gone by our pick, unless Adelaide clubs are keen to trade for picks 14 or 15 specifically for him.
