KPP:

Harry Barnett
22/01/2004 | 202cm | Ruck/Forward
West Adelaide/South Australia

It is the land of the giants over at West Adelaide in 2022, and Barnett is one of many viable tall forward options at the Bloods’ disposal. For a player who measures up at 202cm, the Westies bigman moves incredibly well and can carry the ball forward, while also posing an obvious aerial threat.

Jackson Broadbent
02/12/2004 | 202cm | Ruck
Peel Thunder/Western Australia

One of the rare under-agers to have already experienced senior football, Broadbent is a ruck whose upside was unearthed across the course of the season. He managed three-consecutive League digs but looked most effective at Colts level, before also cracking Western Australia’s Under 19s.

Jedd Busslinger
11/03/2004 | 195cm | Key Defender
East Perth/Western Australia

A more unassuming player than others on this list, Busslinger strung together a terrifically consistent season which ended with a state Under 19s berth. The tall defender positions well to intercept and is rarely beaten both in the air and at ground level, while also distributing with composure.

Will Elliott
11/06/2004 | 200cm | Ruck/Forward
Oakleigh Chargers/Vic Metro

Elliott is the son of former Australian cricketer, Matthew. He provides great versatility and upside at 200cm, able to play on each line but looking most comfortable as a ruck/forward. He’ll be among Oakleigh’s very promising tall fleet in 2022 and could improve rapidly as he continues to fill out.

Isaac Keeler
23/04/2004 | 197cm | Key Forward
North Adelaide/South Australia

A product of Adelaide’s NGA, Keeler will unlikely end up there under the new bidding rules. Nonetheless, he looms as an exciting tall prospect with terrific athletic upside and great potential, having shown his wares for a couple of Under 18s seasons now. He’s effective both aerially and at ground level, with potential to pinch-hit in the ruck.

Harry Lemmey
30/01/2004
| 199cm | Key Forward
West Adelaide/South Australia

The leading key position prospect cracked the SANFL League in 2021 and was a state Under 19s spearhead. He draws comparisons to Nick Riewoldt with his blonde mop and marking prowess in attack, but can also pinch-hit in the ruck at 199cm. Another Westies top-fiver in the making.

6 of their top 22 and doesn't include:
- Matthew Jefferson - kpf - 193cm Oakleigh
- Olivier Northam - kpf - 195cm Geelong

Plenty of talls available this year.

2. Harry Lemmey
The favourite to be the first key forward selected in this year's draft. Lemmey, at 202cm, enjoyed a strong 2021 season, ending the year in fine form with three goals in each of his finals, including 12 marks in his last match. Most threatening when leading, Lemmey demonstrates an insatiable appetite for the ball, displays an exceptionally high work rate and routinely generates meaningful separation on the lead.

5. Jackson Broadbent
Broadbent looms as 2022's top ruck prospect after appearing in three WAFL League games in 2021. He stood out during his appearance for Western Australia against South Australia. Broadbent directs hit-outs to advantage, works hard around the ground, demonstrates good skills, is clean at ground level and capable overhead. With a December birthday, and substantial physical development still to come, Broadbent is likely to continue improving sharply this season.

7. Isaac Keeler
A part of Adelaide's Next-Generation Academy, the Crows won't have first access to Keeler if a bid comes inside the top 40. Keeler is one of 2022's most exciting and freakish key forwards as a high-leaping, smooth-moving athlete. At 198cm, he has strong hands overhead and impressive one-touch cleanness at ground level.

8. Jedd Busslinger
One of 2022's leading key defenders, Busslinger is an elite intercept mark. He reads the ball well in flight, attacks aerially and can pluck the ball out of the air. With ball in hand, Busslinger is a composed and reliable ball user, while defensively, he is competitive and able to limit the influence of his direct opponent.

The top-line KPD's who can really clunk their intercepts don't come cheaply or easily and are really important. It's the role player ones you can get cheaply.
Yes but we already have one of the best in the league in that mould. A stopper to replace Roughy would be cheap, if Dean doesn’t work out.

If we took Naughton, buckley would still be trying to turn him into a defender
He was drafted as a defender. If we took Naughton he’d probably be a premiership defender and we’d never even have cared that he wasn’t played forward.

Swans picked up McCartin pretty cheap.

A lot of failed fwds can play that role quite well tbh.
Yes, but how much do the really good ones cost. Weitering pick 1. Moore top 10. Lever cheaper than he should have been at draft, but traded for a bomb. May don't know how GC got him, but traded for pick 6. Gov was cheap, but a huge salary to retain, etc... DGB looks a ripper who went bloody early. I'd have no qualms in paying the price for an elite one.

It's Keeler or bust for me. Will be the next buddy
Yes, from youtube only, he looks amazing. Lemmey looks like a really good player, but I don't think I'd spend a really high pick on a KPF who doesn't have a ground level game or is freakishly athletic like the King brothers and Keeler looks

He looks real good doesn't he sav

think will will finish top half of bottom 8. Judging from the teams likely to finish below us, I can’t see either lemmey or keeler being available if they are best 2. North will 100% take one. They have plenty of mids.

Never underestimate the foolishness of North Melbourne's list management

Tom Scully kicked another bag (7 goals) this weekend for the Bloods in the SANFL under 18’s, after kicking 6 last week.

Will be very interesting to see how high he moves up draft boards.

Might be a legitimate option for us with our first pick.

Don't think we need another Type of Mid like him

So there’s 3 potential legit KPF’s in the top end? I’m not greedy, one will do

Um.. he is 201cm..

Where did you find that height Jen? I found a quick vid of him in the ruck below. But can’t find his exact height anywhere (bloody sanfl site is rubbish).

Sure it might be a case of a big kid monstering smaller kids, but what is impressive is his kicking accuracy. Literally kicked 6.0 and 7.0 in consecutive weeks.

Wouldn't go as far as to say Scully is top end yet personally, good tools but application can be a bit iffy
