Come on, you know our draft team. There’s no chance they’ll draft a key position player the excuse will be that they were picking the next best available player and that was a mid of average size, no speed or skill but had some good numbers in the combine.

All depends. Not every club will grab a KPF first. North will for sure. So there’s one gone. Adel, Gold Coast might grab mids. hawks likely a mid. Lots depends on who finishes under us
And IMO Elijiah Tstatas would be the clear number 1 at this point. George Wardlaw, Ashcroft would be in the top 5. Would then you place Harry Lemmey 4-5?
If a bid comes from Ashcroft early, then would push our pick down and likely to get a tall.

Where would Scully place? Somewhere in the first round? Depends on championships, but doesn't think anyone sees him top 5 at this point. Between him, Lemmey, that crows NGA product, and maybe a few more... we'll surely get a crack, even if we place around 13-14th on the ladder.

Ashcroft putting similar numbers to daicos last season.
Lions will get a beauty there. We definately should be trageting there first rounder this year.

Who is our draft team that has a track record of doing this?

Lemmey is the one, perfect fit, perfect size, yes we run the risk of his nickname becoming Lemon if he doesn't work out but the kid is tracking beautifully and provides that perfect 200cm foil to Mihocek and Krueger.

keeler is the one, makes the game look easy and would play next year. lemmey is a lead up forward and would take a lot more development

Yeah he could be anything, I didn't get the same feel for presence from him but he moves like a Panther.

IMO Lemmey would be priority number 1. Big searching smart leads and plays a simple but effective game style. Exactly the player we need.

I’d love to somehow pair him with Scully and an under appreciated inside mid later in the draft.

Draft done.

Might need 2 Top 10 Picks and 1 Very High Pick

I was pretty down on us pre-season but I reckon I have higher hopes than a lot of you guys now. Just looking at our fixture which is very kind, unless we get slaughtered by injuries I see us finishing on the fringes of the 8. There's a lot of middling teams out there which I think we can cover. So we could be looking at a Pick 8, 9 or 10. In that case would you be comfortable involving a future first to trade up to secure a key forward?

I wouldn't do it. We need quantity in terms of talented kids, as we're in real danger of falling further in four years time, which is when you draft for.

A pick around that area should be enough to secure a decent key forward in this draft. Lemmey and Keeler aren’t the only two highly rated talls.
And tbh, trading an extra first to secure a draft prospect is a dangerous strategy. Schache was pick 2, and in the same draft McKay went at 10 and Curnow at 12.
