Out of curiosity who didn’t look the goods in their highlights package?..Yeah agreed looks the goods in his highlights.
I'd rather we took Hayes with our first pick if he's still there. I can take or leave Hustwaite, he's not bad but I don't think he's overly special besides his size, would consider him at our second pick. Cowan is a really good player but he's just a half back flanker and tweener, plenty of them available at later picks. I just think talls should be our priority this draft, we have more than enough developing midfielders and flankersAgree, like the sound of a 6' 4" mid with skills, though Poulter says hello, and also worry he could get caught too often at AFL level... any first hand / inside knowledge to opine otherwise welcome & appreciated.
Still hoping that Hayes or Cowan fall to our pick, but Cowan seems a true tassie boy, so go-hope factor must be a consideration.
So we take talls even if they're list cloggers just because they're tall ?I'd rather we took Hayes with our first pick if he's still there. Fair points - I think as Nick Daicos inevitably moves to the midfield over next 12 months we have no real replacements for that role coming through the ranks - think Cowan and Weddle provide possible half back options. Why Cowan and Weddle?, pretty much just half back flankers, plenty of them available at later picks. Hewett, Hayes and Barnett are no brainers but George has had one major knee injury during the year and has now done an ACL, bit of a risk
We do need some talls - but even more desperately after the last 10 years of draft busts - we just need to nail these picksSo we take talls even if they're list cloggers just because they're tall ?
Not fussed with Cowan’s go home factor. Tassie will have a heap of first rounders over multiple drafts so we will be handsomely rewardedAgree, like the sound of a 6' 4" mid with skills, though Poulter says hello, and also worry he could get caught too often at AFL level... any first hand / inside knowledge to opine otherwise welcome & appreciated.

This situation has never happened. All I know is I'm mentally preparing myself for Hine to use 16 on a 190cm bloke that he'll say in a post-draft interview has the ability to play tall or small and at either end of the ground while being able to roll through the ruck.

Yes I totally understand,I'm happy to take all talls if it's where we rate them.We do need some talls - but even more desperately after the last 10 years of draft busts - we just need to nail these picks
Sprinkle in a late year birthday or “bottom aged” () and I think we have the perfect blend of a Hine wet dream. This situation has never happened.
Hine's weakness is a 186cm midfielder who doesn't have any significant ability to actually find the ball but has a loose scope, in his mind, to become a Nat Fyfe type.
Basically Tyler Brown.
That is the view of some and its totally misguided and how is Cowan a tweener? Perfect size for a half back flanker and a good one at that.So we take talls even if they're list cloggers just because they're tall ?
Slight edit. Not a midfielder - a flanker with scope to become a midfielder. This situation has never happened.

I like both Cowan and Weddle, very good players but I hope we are a bit more daring in this trade and really shore up our developing tallsFair points - I think as Nick Daicos inevitably moves to the midfield over next 12 months we have no real replacements for that role coming through the ranks - think Cowan and Weddle provide possible half back options.
Hewett Barnett and Hayes my priorities though
They should be balanced with an f’ed up package.Out of curiosity who didn’t look the goods in their highlights package?..
If ever there was state kids would be happy to get out of it would TassieNot fussed with Cowan’s go home factor. Tassie will have a heap of first rounders over multiple drafts so we will be handsomely rewarded

Similarly, most draft profiles should finish with, "But at the moment, he's miles off it and will have to develop really well in order to have a decent career."They should be balanced with an f’ed up package.
Hustwaite shows a few very good traits, his movement and read on the drop from a ruck contest to shark in flight.
His vision in traffic. His kicking. His ability to move through traffic and find space.
Etc.
I'm not a Hine fan, and I completely agree with you.Slight edit. Not a midfielder - a flanker with scope to become a midfielder.
I'm a Dekka fan, but I think his big weakness has generally been both inside mids and KPF due to a belief that blokes with the attributes will develop those role specific contested abilities more easily than they actually do.
Shades of Pendles and Bont.Pendles-like. But taller.
