Was Swan a champion of the game ? .....I accept he's a great player of COLL .....he's no Ablett, Pendlebery though

What? Are you serious? Best midfielder in the game for a period of time (or top two with GAJ)
Ridiculous question

If you don’t think Swan was a champion then give yourself an uppercut

Leigh Matthews trophy for AFL MVP
Brownlow medalist
AFLCA MVP
5x all Australian

Maybe a double uppercut is merited!

And 3 B&F’s in a successful Collingwood side

Do you agree with the former Flagstaff Hill boy. I have just included Adelaide's top ranked by Cooney Port's can be view in the link.

BROWNLOW MEDALLIST RANKS THE TOP FIVE PLAYERS AT ADELAIDE AND PORT ADELAIDE

Adam Cooney has named his top five players at both Adelaide and Port Adelaide, as well as a combined list ranking the top five players currently in South Australia.

Both lists have a mix of youngsters and veterans, highlighting the changing of the guard at both clubs.

“He had a breakout season and was terrific and got better as the year went on. His breakout means they’ll have a dangerous forward line next year.”

Andrew Hayes: “A big credit to Darcy Fogarty. Even early in the season, he was at the crossroads. For him to turn it around and not just find himself, but effectively be in the Crows’ best players, that’s a fantastic result.”

5. Darcy Fogarty

4. Ben Keays

“He certainly unlocked his potential.”

3. Jordan Dawson

“He has been a great recruit. Who could forget the goal after the siren in the Showdown.”

2. Taylor Walker

“He just keeps on keeping on. Kicked 47 goals, he was terrific.”

1. Rory Laird

“He’s quite comfortably at number one. We showed the comparisons to Lachie Neale in terms of disposals and clearances and disposal efficiency and I don’t think there’s 47 players between Neale and Laird.”

I have Rabbits that are more intelligent than Cooney .....how he gets a media job is mind-numbing

Puts ZERO research in ......just comes off his farm, sprouts some mindless thoughts .....and collects his paycheck

Kane Cornes gets a media job so it is coming of a very low base. So certified idiots can find gigs in the media talking footy. Rendell when he wasn't so far removed from the game he was fine nowadays complete dribble. ''Their midfield is stacked'' Matt Rendell trade radio on the Crows list

A lot of these guys do the same zero research collect paycheck It is clearly good coin if you can get it. If you didn't laugh at it being so laughable quite often you'd ball your eyes out.

Problem is ...you can basically say whatever you like now .....you're not held to account, and idiotic comments just get the phone lines running

So has talk-back radio been a good thing or bad ? ......seems every caller has an idea to change the rules, or game

Kane at least does some research, or actually is up to date with teams and players. While he comes across as completely biased and I don't often agree with what he says, he can probably name more players than Matt Rendell can from a random team.

His older brother was a friend of my sons at Flagstaff. He was already playing in a higher year level way back . Was a star even then ,no good at school though.

West Coast have just delisted Zac Langdon despite him having a contract for 2023 in order to take an extra ND pick. Seem to effectively acknowledge that he's the wrong age/not good enough to keep, so paid him out and said ta-ta.

If only we had the balls to un**** our contracts in a similar way.

Welcome to the West Coast Eagles, Jimmy Rowe.

Didn't Brown just leave a year early?

There's only so many we can push out each year due to salary cap allowances.

It's also comparing two lists like they're the same. When we played them at the tail end of the season

WC put out had an average age of 26 years and 10 months with an average of 126.6 games and 11 players under 100 games. Ours was 24 years and 2 months, 66.5 games and 20 players under 100 games.

One team clearly needs to move players on to bring in fresh talent (and has the draft picks to do it with 4 selections in the top 26) while the other doesn't have the need, nor really the picks.

Gather they will rookie him if no one else picks him up.

Spot on, his whole schtick about being lazy and liking a drink makes for terrible radio. I think he just works for cheap. I don't know how many times I have heard the story about using a burger ring to get engaged.

If we’re not scrambling to make the cap floor we’re doing something wrong with this list.

Shouldn't be near the floor. Financially stable clubs should never be near the floor.

Cap is $13,540,000. Floor is $12,863,000.

Thats over 500k of cap space we shouldn't be leaving on the table. We should be altering players like Dawson & Rankines contracts to push as much into 2023 Cap as possible so we have more flexibility moving forward.

You go near the floor so you can send over the cap the following year, so well run list management would have us at the 12.8m, plus all the contracts front ended leaving heaps of cap for 2023.

Kane is great in the media and does exactly what’s he’s paid for.
Listen to the podcast he did with Dylan Buckley, found it very good.

If we’re not scrambling to make the cap floor we’re doing something wrong with this list.

The floor is only $658k below the cap. So let’s say Brown was on $450k that’s essentially it. Assuming we are meeting the floor by front loading contracts there would be very little wiggle room at the end of the season
