I read that Meek has nominated Hawks as his preferred landing spot if a trade can be organised.
Funny that Hackdorn mentioned about 8 Clubs but Hawthorn was not one of the clubs he mentioned.

Roos said he'd never coach again when he left Sydney, Clarko was always coming back.
The day Roos was appointed Melbourne coach he said he was only taking the job on with a view to a succession plan to fast track an assistant into the senior coach. Clarkos got a five year contract and will be the main man for all that, I haven't heard anything about succession plans from him
Clarkson's last few years at the Hawks could well be the blueprint for the early part of his tenure at NM.
Any coach, regardless of his reputation, cannot lift a side lacking talent to the promised land.
All successful AFL coaches need a good sprinkling of game winners. Game winners generally need little motivation but a good coach can certainly lift the output of role players to help them be better contributors for the teams performance.
NM will improve but then up is the only way for them from where they are.

I'm not sure how you'd define that though. I'll be surprised if he wins another flag as coach, but would that make him a complete failure?

I'd be in the keep Meek camp. Our ruck stocks aren't overly plentiful. Meek is very much capable of taking the fulltime ruckman mantle next year and the plans don't seem to be to have Jackson be the majority ruck in the short to medium term, if at all.
Different role mate. Western won’t be able to play his role.

I think Tyler Brockman would be a bit of a fan favorite if we can get him back. He has quite the bag of tricks. I don't want to swap Meek for him, Brockman out of contract third round pick who hasn't played much at all due to injury, he should be almost free.
Not making finals in 5 years would be complete failure.

Gonski: Logue ,Acres, Tucker, Meek, Lobb (possibly),Western and Blakely. That's 7 players ,so I cannot imagine there will be anymore delisting.
