Definitely not the first to bring this guys name up but that Ben Miller should absolutely be on our radar. Like a less talented Balta.

If we get Brayshaw, and Jackson, how does it improve our biggest weakness, our forward line?

Especially if Lobb goes out.
It doesnt but neither is anyone we draft and while Zurhaar's uncontracted, he's apparently happy. North are also going to pay him whatever he wants with the capspace they have.

The forwardline improves by Treacy and Amiss and more experience for the smalls who could be a lot more effective just being cleaner.

I dont think you miss out on top 10 players from a premiership side who want to join you because they dont perfectly fit what you need. People also have their views on Jackson too small, they are thinking about just next year and the year after. Jackson is going to have 10 years with the core of our group. There is still time to address other needs down the track.

Forward line looks better with Treacy
Picked.
Jackson, Treacy, Tabs, is a good spread.
Amiss developing, have to get Erasmus must play medium tall.
Switta is our only A Grade forward, and is always injured.

Tabs is a solid B Grader, but injury prone.
Treacy, Jackson, Erasmus, Schultz are all unlikely to be A Grade forwards.

Best forward line I have for next year is below.

Hf: Logue Amiss ??
F: Switta Taberner ??

Utility: (Coming of the bench) Jackson

We are at two players short of having a top 4 forward line, and Schultz, Banfield are not good enough, and I am not sure Freddy is either.

Agree on this, this is the big advantage of him.

I don't have Treacy in my best 22, I think Logue is better than him. Hard to fit Tabs, Amiss and Logue plus Treacy.

Yeah, I dont know if the forwardline improves next year, it will be tough without Lobb, main point is I think a lot of people (not necessarily you) are too close minded on the Jackson thing. Honestly, the best thing we can do is tell McDonald that Sydney clearly dont value him playing in the 2's and we want him in purple after the next contract. He should be the absolute perfect partner with Amiss - our own Cameron and Hawkins

Can really see us having a bit of a dip next year, before getting serious 2024.

Have to make the most of what’s in front of this year.

I think rather than going the next step we'll just produce a similar result to 2022 which could be seen as a loss to most expectations or a win (When we won't have Mundy or Lobb playing anymore)

I don’t think it’s necessarily about improving it but more about finding the best way to soften the blow of losing Lobb. Yep Jackson isn’t the ideal replacement but he is the best available. And well, he could be anything! So glass half full take

We’re stuffed without Lobb. Unless Jackson trains into a leaping forward, it’s going to be a slow rebuild in that department.
Fyfe from this point on has to play as Pavlich. Be smart about it and play forward/CHF and stop with the stoppages.
Treacy another pre season will go okay. But we need a tall like English, and we can contend for the top 4. That’s the difference

If Lobb goes to the bulldogs would it make sense to include Schache in a potential deal?

He’s only 24 and is a big lad, could be a handy stop gap for a season or two until Tracey and Amiss develop. Especially if Tabs goes down with another injury.

Worst case scenario is he spends a year or two in the magoos and gets delisted, best case scenario is he turns out to be another Will Brodie story

Pretty hard to improve when they are stuck at Peel, Treacy is 20 years of age and
played 20 games.
Plenty on here talking up Zuhaar, a 189cm 96 kg 24 year old.
Yet Erasmus in a few years will be similar in build.
Forward line was always going to hold us back, nothings changed and won’t until
the coach gets the balance of speed and power right.
Like Logue as the swing man, but let’s be honest Treacy can find the big sticks.
A lot to like with Jackson.and Treacy’s intimidation.
We are using makeshift players as forwards, and it’s starting to bite us in the bum.
Our best footy, we have a strong spine and not getting out marked.

If Jackson can develop into a multi positional player and take some midfield time it allows our forwards to just be forwards. Selection wise he could be replacing someone like Colyer or Banfield.

I’m all for this. Be simply silly not to bring in a forward to replace Lobb. Scache isn’t in form not getting chances at Bulldogs
Jackson will be thrown to the wolves that is Fremantle’s forward line and having to play Lobb’s role which he isn’t close to

Why would we have a dip, just based on losing Lobb??? We have a great core of young players that will only get better with some finals experience and then another pre season under their belt
