Well Zurhaar definitely won't be coming now 😒

Do you think Essendon hold a grudge? Failed to poach a coach from North but project onto North like it's their fault so put a big offer in front of Zurhaar to get them back for it.

5 years on the same money as Clarkson would be noticed.

Yes, that place is full of big ego’s so I can see that happening.

Thoughts on Bruest fellas? Would be nice to add some real class to our forward line, especially with Walters getting older.

Watch the Roos come for Andy Brayshaw in the next couple of years….
That's fine. He is contracted until 2025 and already paid most of the way to a million dollars a season.

Are they going to offer Brayshaw $1,350,000 a season?

I think the Dogs have more to worry about with Caleb Daniel personally. Clarkson loves unconventional players with good ball use.

Breust is the same age.
Age and performances are two different things, Bruest scored more goals then any of our forwards this season playing for a much worse side. Walters has obviously fallen off the cliff a little earlier then most stars.

Players want to play finals.

The list is a mess and Clarkson is a draw card but it’s North Melbourne not Hawthorn.
Hopefully for north, Clarko keeps his mittens off the list managers and doesn't convince them to ship off their early picks for ready made players. They need to keep hitting the draft and only bring in mature players if they're free agents. Slow build

How much are we paying Andy??
I don’t reckon anyone is safe at any club tbf, the have pick one and you would think a compo pick this year as well as a low pick next year to lure a deal with clubs….
The Clarko aura is seductive and he will start building a mature list profile immediately- very similar to the Hawks when he took over, list was built on youth over multiple drafts - he will start looking for mature players to protect and bring along the young fellas.
He is the messiah, JHF will stay and players will start to see the Roos as a destination club.

Above $500,000 and below $850,000

Clarkson's personality might actually move out players with issues around attitude and application. I don't think Clarkson is the sort to walk into, let's say, Geelong and say "that young man there, Clark, he will play more".

Josh P Kennedy was moved on from Hawthorn to be quite a handy player.

I don't see how people can be so sure Sturt is getting another contract.

He's in his fourth year. Most fourth year players that don't play a game all year get delisted, unless injuries play a major part. He's barely been injured this season so that isn't an excuse.

I actually think he's done much better in the WAFL the last few weeks tbh, yet he seems no closer to selection. I don't put much weight on what our coach says about him - he'd be positive about anyone who's on our list currently.

The signs aren't looking good for him imo but it does seem there may be some room on the list once we're done with trade week.
Because he is our leading goalscorer in the WAFL, he is top 10 in the competition

He hasn't performed as bad as everyone seems to think, he has worked on his defensive game since getting a spray for it and his offensive game is good

We have been very safe at selection, unfortunately for Sturt.

This is his first year without injury, would be crazy to drop him now when he has a clean bill of health going into the next preseason, he could explode next year if he has a full pre season, clean slate for 2023 could be what the doctor ordered, we already have to reshape our forward line with Lobb leaving.

Read from one of our favourite sports writers that Blake Acres has a four year contract from Carlton. It’s more likely that Carlton have spoken with Col Young and he has tapped the Sports Journalist and said run with this story mate.

If he does have a four year offer (which I doubt) then he would be mad not to take it. At a min Carlton would have to hand that 2nd that they wouldn’t give up for Cerra last year (or Motlop thanks). Not the smartest move from Carlton given they have been down this track way too much of late and openly came out earlier this year and said they would be hitting the draft after years of trading in players.

They have some expensive contacts with the likes of McGovern, Cerra, Martin, Saad and Williams all being brought in in recent years.

What would it take to extract Harry McKay?
Out of contract next year.
Whispers of Curnow signing a big contract at Carlton.
Surely Carlton have not got enough Visy bucks?

'Carlton key forward Charlie Curnow has signed a six-year deal, committing to the Blue until at least the end of 2029'

The Visy dollar well is very, very deep. Plenty more ambassadorships to go around.

I wouldn't be surprised if they "somehow" manage to sign another free agent on very good coin.
