Only one year contract. If we have to lose Logue and Lobb I would be finding a way to them into Neale.

I haven’t seen him @ VFL but even as a junior he had more footy nouse in his little toe than good old Tabs

He’d be perfect for us if we could somehow get him out of Geelong

Move Treacy to the backline and we would be pretty well covered for talls

That would be nice

I'd like to put Treacys career/season into context
Last year showed he was capable of playing as a 3rd tall. Has not been given the opportunity to play as a 3rd tall this season therefore taking one of the 2 best defenders at the age of 19.
They played him rnd 1 when they knew he was under done due to groin issue. He certaintly wasnt the worst on the ground. He was then omitted which wouldnt be good for anyones confidence.
Come back in against Geelong & played his role.
Against NM he played as 1st or 2nd tall & had a good game
Suns game wasnt his best but everyone was poor that day.
At Peel he was averaging 2 goals & then had an ankle injury. He played 3 games since his ankle injury rotating through the ruck & 2 of those 3 games were horrid conditions for a tall fwd.
Now he has been diagnosed with a viral infection. Wonder how long hes been battling that??
Hoping he gets an uniterrupted run at it next season
Below is his Peel stats! Not bad all thigs considered

Treacey never leaves anything in the tank..
He competed with men in his first year without a forward line around him.
He is a tackling machine and when his tail is up he is our most accurate forward.
Treacey will be dominating next year.
Injury and virus free for next year..👍

The perfect foil for amiss and whoever else wants to step up..

Excellent post.

yep, hoping JLo puts in ras and MJ for Mundy and Tucker, and fills the tall forward line with Treacy, LJ and Amiss (with Tabs when available) and just backs them all season.

Very nice post because the way some people talk about Treacy on here, my god.

Guy is an absolute gun in my mind, just needs an injury free preseason.

If we are throwing up fringe talls from other clubs, what is the status with Derksen at GWS? Those mid season draft players only get a 6 month contract to start, don't they? Have they given him an extension?

That’s why I think we low balled acres.

Mundy going.
Need spots in the best 22 for Noddy Ras and Johnson.

Depth may be lacking but cap needs to be taken into account.

Eagles are a mess because they’ve overpaid players and we don’t want to be in that same situation.

Some of them put 18 months on their head when they nominate, but I don't know if he was one of them.

Edit. Mr Google just told me this

Theres a lot of talk about Izak Rankin going to the Crows. Could that shake loose a forward we could pick up?

This. If it wasn't for Covid I reckon he would have gone close to being a first round draft pick.
I thought it was really interesting that we started playing him in the ruck as well, for a couple of weeks he was basically mirroring the role Logue was playing for Freo.
It may have just been for insurance if Lobb didn’t get up for the finals but has definitely added another string to his bow.
I’d have no problem playing him as forward/ruck along side Tabs at FF for round 1 next year with Fyfe or Amiss playing the 3rd tall role.
Good coverage to have if both Lobb and Logue depart at the end of the year.

I’d be keen on Jake Riccardi at GWS personally. 195 cm forward who always manages to tear us apart but has been a bit in and out of GWS. Contracted next year I think but GWS may have salary cap issues. We’ve mined Gold Coast for years, time GWS got on board!!!

I mentioned him earlier in this thread and he was the first name that came to me when this forward stuff came about. Also kicked four goals in his first game against Freo and Walls remember that sort of stuff.

He first played that role against North Melbourne and competed like a dog at the gate. He showed he could play that role.

If Logue was already contracted for another year or so and Treacy didn't have an ankle then a virus I think he would be pushing Logue out of that spot. He is a better forward and competes as well in the ruck.

While we talk about which KPF to bring in, I feel it’s worth nothing the long history of KPFs close to being written off before figuring it out. I’d have to look into it more it feels like there is a definitive age bracket where you can get a KPF that has been on a list for a while for cheap with massive potential to explode. I reckon the age cut-off is 24 and it helps a lot if they were a 1st round pick.

Good examples include Fogarty, Marshall and Peter Wright who I think had all been on a list for 4-5 years before figuring it out. Is there any in this age bracket around the place?

He destroyed us in one game and has done nothing against anyone since!

Schache but he isn’t capable of figuring out.

Some more detail
  • Peter Wright, 24 last year when he started to figure it out
  • Darcy Fogarty, 22 this year
  • Todd Marshall, 23 this year

Jake Riccardi will be 23 for the start of next year and while he doesnt meet the "high draft pick criteria", he gives the best chance of getting a Peter Wright style bargain

As I keep going through this in my head, other players that meet this criteria that MIGHT be about to break out after underperforming
2016 Draft
  • Josh Battle

2017 Draft
  • Jarrod Brander (lol)
  • Callum Coleman Jones

2018 Draft
  • Jacob Koschitzke

Riccardi definitely the best chance of value IMO
