Disagree. I think if they’re drafting someone in the MSD, it’ll be with an eye to the longer term. That player may or may not have an impact at senior level this year.

All of that is quite reasonable, but I just imagine they will be wanting to make only a few moves at the end of the year (maybe not as many as some on here would like!), and wouldn't want their "hands tied" by making too many moves mid-season. We should be a strong chance of getting someone decent with our first pick in the MSD, but I'd be very surprised if we were interested in taking a second pick, even if we somehow ended up being eligible to have one. We're likely to have to move Tom Wilson on to our Primary List at the end of the year (or at least delist him and then pick him up in the Rookie draft), so I don't expect we'd want many more than (the standard) 42 players on our list come season's end.

I agree. Won’t be too many changes at the end of the year. List is already too inexperienced to further aggressively dilute. There’ll be a couple who have had their chances and aren’t seen as long term or transitional components. There’ll be 1 or 2 kids who aren’t up to it. And a retirement, maybe 2.

That’s why I think they’ll look to steal a march on someone they like longer term and they’ll give them 18 months. Like Begg. Just means they take 1 less via the draft.

HB or HF? I see strong overhead marking HB interceptors with elan as a very high need.

Like the fact that he played much of his junior footy as big bodied inside mid, can find and win his own ball.
Foot Skills for all future picks must be a priority, sick of seeing to many of our draftees butcher the ball.

Not just a HF or HB Hine special, also a big bodied tall mid or intercepting key back who can kick

Lieu looks alright.

Crucially he, Baker, El Nour all look to be very agile and mobile, able to aerially intercept AND rebound it quickly… which has been the knock on Murphy, Madgen, and further back scharenberg who all move like shopping trolleys in comparison to these kids

Outside of perhaps a man on man fullback… the modern game now demands a high degree of agility and mobility from all 190cm plus defenders

Depends on his contract, but he went in 2015, so it'd be end of next year or whenever his contract expires. You'd want some massive cap space, if he went as a FA, he'd be the highest priced FA since Buddy.

That's what I'd be betting on - particularly from a premiership team that could well be a multi-premiership team by then.

This was the culture we needed to fix, Moore should have never got what he DEMANDED, we should have made a stand and let him go, if he was Collingwood through and through he would have stayed for less

Nobody takes pay cuts to build a flag winning team! They take pay cuts to keep a premiership team together for longer, not build one out of used Band-Aids and rubber bands.
