It was disrespectful FULL STOP....

EPL players get flicked all the time but if they score against their old side, they don't celebrate and DEFINITELY DON"T GRAB THE JUMPER. They would be abused and never forgiven EVER...

The @ person was the dead give away he was having a dig...

Was a 'Priv' (Private) account, she had her real face on it though - very stupid and I hope she cops it. Said some horrible things, referred to him as an animal that is often used as a racial slur to POC and made some other racially motivated comments but I wasn't quite sure what she meant.

Really gross, I feel for Chol.
A very good player I think Arrow said we should have picked him up smart athletic player.
Took some great marks I like the way he plays a pity some drongo taints our supporters that way

When are people going to learn that it's just not ok to do this sort of crap?

I just don't get it?

I can understand being angry that we lost and Chol had took a shot at one of our players and maybe sending a private message to your friends even if you are being a racist piece of shit.

But where do they get off by sending that filthy garbage to a player?

I hope you are found and if a member of our club stripped of such honour, banned from attending our games and fined by the police.

It's pathetic to think one of the AFL's all time great forwards and genuinely good person was in tears on TV about this shit recently pleading for change yet

this ******* goes and posts crap that will dredge it all up again not just for Eddie but all those who have faced racism in every day life.

We have to do better as a society.
One of the downfalls of the modern age and social media. Back in the day, you only had the opportunity to be a racist piece of shit at the ground, in a large group of people. You had to have the guts to do it, knowing that those around you might not respond favourably.
Now, everyone has access to the players through social media, which can be great for fan interaction, but one of my fears as a parent with online bullying, is that this access is 24/7 with no chance to escape it and the ability to do it anonymously.

In my day (feel old saying that), if you got bullied at school, you were able to come home to a safe environment and escape it for a few hours a day or a weekend. If it was bad enough that you had to change schools (I knew some people who changed schools), you could start fresh. Now the bullies can follow you anywhere.

Soccer fans are a different breed.

Great Post.

Could not agree more especially the part of people staying anonymous and can do/say whatever they like with no repercussions. There needs to be

something done law wise to make people more accountable for their actions using these online tools that can be used to hurt.

Whether that's being licensed to use such sites/tools I don't know?

Carlton were a fashion faux pas yesterday. Definitely last year’s model. The team ethic disappeared and we were back to a handful of players having a crack and playing at the level required to win games of footy.

Our engine room fell apart without Pittonet and Cripps. A good team cops adversity and finds a way. TDK’s inexperience was exposed yesterday but the guys at ground level, apart from Hewett, failed to influence the game.

Trying to win games based on scoring from turnovers is not going to work. We gifted goals to the Suns through a lack of discipline. We let Weller run around without a man. How does that happen? And those around the corner kicks are starting to shit me. There’s a time and place. Just not nearly most of the time.

Well I feel better now. Go Blues.

Different customs and way more precious.

Casboults allowed to do whatever the fu** he wants. Including celebrating the club that gave him a life line... I only smell betas when I see complaining about it.

So true.

And I will celebrate the club that gave him everything he owns and then some. That stood by him when his knees were ****ed. That kept him on the list when they knew his knee was ****ed. And about 10 other things I can't put on here...

Respect is earned. I think the Carlton football deserves his respect, at the very least...

?

Rooney kissed the Man U symbol after scoring against Everton?

Ibrahmiovic, Salah, Ronaldo, Angel Di Maria, Robin Van Persi, Mahrez, KDB, Saurez and I'm sure many, many more have all gone nuts with celebrations against their former teams too. Di Maria completely disrespectful, it's shithousery, it's great, it's sport, it's culture and it's fun.

Looked to me like the Gold Coast coaches and team came prepared to play against us while we showed up ready to just try and play our attacking style.

Similar to the second half against the Bulldogs and the last three quarters against the Hawks but this time we had heavy pressure and were outnumbered at contests for the whole game.

A big lesson for Voss here, he’s going to learn very quickly that he needs more than plan A to be successful.
Our pathetic and predictable mindset (we gift wrap GC a game early on every year) meant that we weren't even implementing Plan A...had nothing to do with Pitto, Cripps, Witts, plan a, etc etc etc...we are still unable to wear that jumper with pride each and every game
The new regime will now be judged on how they get the players to respond after a loss...I await with interest

Freo are going better than we are. Far from a gimme. blitzing scores from turnovers and have excellent turnover defence. They'll be locking their lips for that game against our garbage transition ball movement.
Yes I expect a good flogging over there -- think there the best turnover defenders and scorers from turnover behind Melbourne -- we will kick it to them all day - won't be pretty ..

I think it's telling where we lost this when you look at our top disposals for the match:
View attachment 1368953

4 of our top 6 are defenders/half backs. Our previous rounds painted a different picture - nearly the same picture each week of the top 4 being our 4 mids. Vossy has said over and over in his conferences contested ball is #1. Yesterday's game is the first time we've lost the contested possessions, and co-incidentally our first loss.
We lost a lot of contests at half forward and Gold Coast went through our first layer of defence to the HBF to easy previous weeks out mids held up well and let in a small number of inside 50 for the number of turnovers we had(maybe pitto cripps block space better and force another contest 🤷🏻‍♂️ ).. we really need to fix our transition through HF line - unless we kick over them it is a turnover everytime - some reason Martin and fish been struggling in our forward transition this last two weeks

I thought Cas was quite articulate in his comment on instagram.
Yeah, good on him.

As much as the club gave him opportunities, he also gave his all for the club. And I applaud his drive to eek out whatever he can for the remainder of his AFL career for a club that’s given him an opportunity. Top line sporting lives are generally short-lived; make the most of the time you have.

Once he retires, he’ll still be a bluebagger.

Eh, that’s what I felt our players were doing to our jumper yesterday.

Let's put this into perspective.

Gold Coast were always going to be hard to beat there, especially with our first ruck out and Cripps injured after the first quarter. They even pushed Melbourne to two goals. Considering all this, if we had better converted our opportunities, it would've been a close enough game for a possible win.

I think it's better to get a game like this out of the way than, say, vs Port or North.

I think it proved TDK is still not ready to be #1. The size was the biggest difference. Against those big ruckman he will struggle
For me his biggest problem is he relies on his leap and often does not land ready to be effective on the ground -- a lot of genuine ruck work is the follow up and after he reaches for the stars and gets his footing back on earth the play has moved -- it is the odd time everything align and he is in the follow up play -- they either got to work on his jumping or get him to temper it .. plus he needs strength little bit like a baby giraffe at moment
