We won by 36 and I still feel flat...
I wouldn’t be too flat Ferris. Completely understand the sentiment but this was just about getting the 4 points against a battling side. There’s a reasonably long list of top 8 contending sides that have fluffed it against bottom 6 sides. Richmond are one example. We take the 4 points and run. Hopefully start to find some more form in the remaining 4 games.

Setters, take a bow mate. Think I posted about 6-7 weeks ago that he seemed WAY more intense. Like he’d decided to have a real crack at it. His attack on the loose ball has gone up 3 levels. His end to end running is top shelf. Hands so much more suited fo his outside role. He’s running his lane well, not ball watching. If you watch closely he beats his man up and down the ground very regularly. Kicking was rough last week but it was blowing a gale. His kicking today was great. I’m wrapt for him. Could be the next Matt Kennedy auccess story for the dev coaches. And himself too.

Well, ****ing, done.

Cos Pies won ...or?

I dunno.

It was an ugly game.

We were so sloppy in the first half and I felt our pressure levels were way down.

But we did what we needed to do and banked the 4 points.

I guess the silver lining is how well is your team travelling when you win by six goals and you feel 'Meh, we could have been so much better'... Pretty special place to be after ~20 years of honourable (and dishonourable) losses...

Good win,
Enjoyed Setters game. does the hard yards both inside and out.
A bit more love for Plow, hopefully he wont end up on the WOODHEAP.
Keep cracking away boys, we are Finals bound.
With the pressure of Finals games, Who knows we might crack or hopefully the team we play against will.
Get excited Blues Fans..

that's the spirit - never forget where we've been, matthew - how euphoric 12 wins by round 19 would have seemed as recently as a couple of years back.....

Oh, I am well aware.

Got mates that lose their minds when we drop a game.... 'can't believe we let top 4 slip through our fingers'... Etc

Top 4? Top ******* 4? We haven't finished the H&A in the top 8 in over a decade*. We've got a new coach, we've missed most of our KPDs this year and we are two games inside the 8 with a month to go.

We are not a finished product but the improvement has been glorious. Anyone that pre-season would have predicted us to be 12-6 by this point was either a psychic, on drugs or both...

We're going to have ugly games. Learning how to win ugly games is an important growth milestone for every team.

Food for thought:

This is the first time since they were drafted (end of 2015) that McKay and Curnow have played more than half a season together. Even the last time Charlie was healthy for most of the season (2018, he played 20 of 22 games) Harry only played 13 games and 2 of them were the games that Charlie missed (so 11 games together). Further, our small forward brigade has been completely revamped since that time and aside from Fisher none of them had spent time in the same forward unit.

Yes, the smalls still need to learn how to crumb to them but it's pretty remarkable that the duo have this level of chemistry already.

Establishing a very nice baseline with enormous growth potential this year.

Yep. I have absolutely no problem with it closer than 40m.

But it is RIDICULOUS to be doing this from 45m. For mine it is essentially signalling a form of weakness to the opposition, not having the courage to go back kick through the ball properly and kick a goal.

The most annoying part is McKay is actually a good long kick when he goes the drop punt.

Cripps was absolutely kidding himself with that effort (although that seems to be the norm with him these days).

Coaches need to step in and create a team rule about this, have seen enough.

Totally- the ones from 40+ should be drop punts. Feels like McKay is lacking confidence at that range. As for crippa, we’ll yeah…the most I’ll say is it balanced Toby Greene’s effort

Yep, anything outside 35m must be a drop punt...

(Cripps outside 15m)

Meanwhile Syd Stack almost certain to be delisted by Richmond.
