Gov out would be a major headache for MC

He’s more than just a 3rd tall….his intercept marking and penetrating kick set up some good offence for us over the last 2 weeks

Not sure if Plow is capable of that output…he’s more of a smaller 3rd tall.

Parks could be that guy, but doubt he has the experience to keep up with Gunston…….not the offensive output….Marchy would have been perfect

Omac/Young we don’t lose much there….

Cerra 100%……Martin 50/50 I reckon

Gov is a massive out, been great and gives us plenty on the field. Will be interesting to see the final team but thankfully we should have the depth to cover the loss of Gov.

Side note: So shite for Gov and us that when he finally hits some form, he cops an injury 🤬

If Young plays well and McDonald is fit week I could see them both playing next week with Young in the third tall role. Will need to lockdown this week but as a 3rd tall option I see him offering more rebound then Plowman and Parks while McGovern and Marchy are out.

I do not know what you drinking but time to put that drink away and sober up.

Can you imagine what your opinion would be when those Outs actually have a poor game?

I cannot believe you actually have Pittonet and Fisher in there.
Outstanding rebuttals... thanks for quoting me!

Geesh first Fisher now Pitto……spare me.

Seems you've not been reading that intently.

So from the extended bench, Pitto, Cerra and Bam Bam are obviously in, and then a defender (my guess Plow). So Martin unlikely to be in the 22.
I mean Pittonet is on the extended bench, so I wouldn't necessarily rule it out if we feel we can't corral or go with Hawthorn's counter-attacking runs.

We've lost an interceptor and elite foot skills out of defence on the aggregate, and neither substitution option on the bench is going to replace that. Mobility helps collapse on that easier.

I dont get the calls for silvagni to go back. He has never played back, never trained back and is putting solid form together as a forward. Yet people want him to go there ahead of guys who have trained and played there all preseason?

If his last name wasnt silvagni dont think people would be suggesting it.
I think he has gone back a minute here and there but, yes, you are correct, he trains and plays with the forward systems.
Just some weird perception simply because his Dad was such a champion defender.
Anyone can go back and sure he can do it, but he important link between midfield and deep in forward line so do not see it likely at all unless injuries during a match ask for radical adjustment.

The reason I didn't rebut you is because it didn't deserve one... but if you insist!

In what world do you think one of the most inform team going around (and definitely to Carlton standards) is going to be suddenly swinging the changes?

I mean what does that actually do to the team?

Pittonet IS one of the core reasons why our mids are getting their hands on the ball and is also part of the chain.

He is in ripping form. He has elevated his game and we're reaping the rewards....

We're a tough at it midfield... he's the centre of it.

Now Fisher.

The only way I can explain that choice is that you simply do not understand his role.

He's the smaller player Mr Fix It, whilst SOS is the taller playrr Mr Fix it.

He complements our tough inside mids well by being outside the pack, quick at hand and feet linkage role we're establishing. With leg speed, can play attacking forward and defensive forward. Can pitch hit in the mid and offers that elite pressure.

He has done his role to perfection.

On Newman, I have rewatched the game over the Dogs several times and his game has been undervalued externally, but doubt it would be internally. When we were under constant pressure, he was one of the main players intercepting or the avenue out. Yes he does a mistake here and there, but not often.

Above all, why are you looking at a negative angle to these players rather than positive? They've done a shitload more right than wrong.

This season a player here and there may be unreservedly dropped for positional/match up purposes, but it won't be 3 when we already have injuries.

Watch the Dawks-Port reply.

Dawks aren't much chop.

Port were simply hideous, maybe worse than that.
I watched Mitchell's presser from today. It made me more confident and actually think more highly of him.

He seems to be a coach in control and under no illusions where they are at. They'll come good very soon, but not there yet.

Kemp can play gov role or leave plow there. Easy decision .. Hopefully gov will be lucky to get back into side as unfortunately his body can not be trusted

Just saw the side if the players on the field play then keeping Kennedy Martin pitto cerra on bench we would have a very un competitive back 6 so maybe Martin will be medi sub ?

not exactly what I expected but then I am not a fan of two rucks and the coaches are obviously so I got no idea
based on the listed 18 I would prefer to see this line up

Backs:Zac WilliamsJacob WeiteringNic Newman
Half-backs:Adam SaadLewis YoungSam Docherty
Centreline:Will SetterfieldPatrick CrippsLochie O'Brien
Half-forwards:Matthew OwiesCharlie CurnowCorey Durdin
Forwards:Jack SilvagniHarry McKayZac Fisher
Followers:Tom De KoningSam WalshGeorge Hewett
Interchange:Marc PittonetAdam CerraMatthew Kennedy
Luke ParksJack Martin (Sub)
EmergenciesLachie FogartyLachie PlowmanJordan Boyd

Why?
Pittonet has surprised me - we are a team living off centre clearances and we need the big fellow
Kennedy is on fire
Cerra is the cream our midfield needs

Parks, Plowman or Boyd are our only real defenders left in the possible interchange and if you look at our mids, they rest forward, they are not mids who can play back, Setterfield maybe our defensive winger but I don’t think we want him in our back 6. So we need a defender for the 4th spot
I initially leant towards Plowman as the 4th interchange because go with experience.
I believe Hawthorn are a forward line that could get us on the rebound and therefore we need more 1:1 defenders with speed so maybe a Boyd but if we do that then where is our 3rd tall defender? don’t play one? Put Parks or Plowman on as the sub?
Parks - I think we have been playing with 3 tall defenders in the back 7 rotation and so tend to think they will go that way to keep consistent with the game plan - next man up

If only he had the speed on the lead and the accuracy, he would have made it at Fitzroy.

I could not think of anyone kicking much more than 10 for us in my time.
Fev kicked 12 on new year's eve but was not a real game.
Think I saw SOS kick 10 and probably Sticks but struggle to think of anyone kicking 11 or 12 in my time of following Carlton.
Beaumont kicked 8 in a quarter
