Weather forecast is for light rain most of the day,who does that favour?

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app

I think us with our big midfield bodies and contested style of play. Though if the rain is decent I would consider Dekoning out for a small as a late change. McKay, Curnow, DeKonging and Silvagni is a bit tall for a wet weather game.

You’d lock in Cerra, Kennedy & Pitto from that extended bench.

The 7th defender is the interesting one. We’ve kind of got four options; Plow as the experienced medium who can play tall-ish, Parks who’s more or a marking defender, Boyd the smaller type with a great kick, then there’s the possibility of having Setters take his defensive wing game further into the back half.

Not sure the likelihood of that Setters move happening, but it would allow Martin to be in the 22.

Martin could be a pretty special sub though… someone ‘rolls an ankle’ at the end of the 3rd and he comes on with fresh legs ready to carve things up. Kind of like the ‘finishers’ approach to the bench in rugby (substitution not interchange) where you stack a few high impact players to bring on at the end, replacing the workhorse guys who grind out the first 50-60 mins.

I guess there’s also a slim chance that someone comes out of the 18 and we have 5 from the extended bench in the 22, but realistically that probably isn’t going to happen unless there’s a predicted/planned/etc late change. That being said, those late changes seem to occur pretty rarely, especially when compared to how often it suggested they’ll happen on BF so I guess now that I’ve mentioned it there won’t be one…

How good is it having these genuinely hard calls on who gets dropped, rather than the just easy calls of who should come in like recent years?…

OK, but teams name 22, then add the sub from one of the 4 emergencies.
So with ins and outs, if the sub stays in you have to name 1 more out than in. The sub is only an 'in' if they play.
I'm not sure what you're arguing (or why)?
I've taken last week's 23 (including the sub) and made 3 ins and 3 outs, so still a 23. I'm aware of how the clubs do it, but I'm not the club. I'm just an opinionated dolt on the internet, like the rest of us.
The only thing I haven't done is name a preferred sub from my 23, although I mentioned that it might be Martin.

McGovern reported hamstring awareness during the session and went for scans, the result of which confirmed a grade one hamstring strain. At this stage, it is expected to see him return to the side in the vicinity of Round 6-7.

HE HAS TO BE BETTER MANAGED !!!!!
Has a ridiculous injury portfolio.......Gov is much needed however has to be heavily discounted just when everyone for a minute was on board again

HELLO !!!!

Interesting on Liam Jones.

Is he still on our list? ( he is on Supercoach)

Covid mandates are being lifted in quite a few areas recently. Could it happen in AFL ?

Highly unlikely but even if there is a glimmer of this happening by say mid season????

How good would it be to bring the Jones boy back. 😍

Limited viewing, but I like the physicality that Parks plays with. Believe he also has the aerial advantage over Plowman too.
The dish!
Good satellite player.
Understands signals
Picks up whatever comes near him.
And....
He is really something in the air.

Wow horsie. Not bad.
:sneaky: :blueheart: :racehorse:

Needs to hire Simmo as his pilates coach or something.

I think this is going to be a very interesting selection before the game.

Really interested to see who replaces McGovern and what they do with Martin.

I currently feel like it is a Plowman/Parks/Boyd call
Owies/Durdin/Martin call

I love Martin, but I feel like you're giving up a little defensive pressure to get more goal/marking upside.

Considering owies and durdin are named in starting positions that 'calls' already been made. They're playing. The call is only 4 of the interchange list.

If Plowman doesn't get selected for tonight's game given the outs, our coaches are making a massive statement.

I'm not fussed if he does, out of necessity, but I'll also be very happy in the message they're sending if he doesn't.

I can't imagine it being a particularly strong message given that he has already missed the first 2 matches. It's not as if he is lacking in professionalism/work ethic.

And with everyone hanging crap on him, imagine how he feels. Must be absolutely frustrated.

It not like he wants to be injured. His body is just not letting him get a run at it.

Wish everyone would lay off a bit.
