A couple of points.

Firstly, I'm not a Plow fan. However, he is a capable reserve option. What a great position for us.

Secondly, it's looking like Martin might be a sub and it's not based on form. The guy is a mercurial talent in my opinion. What a great position for us.

We haven't had these types of scenarios for many years. And I love it

And with everyone hanging crap on him, imagine how he feels. Must be absolutely frustrated.

It not like he wants to be injured. His body is just not letting him get a run at it.

Wish everyone would lay off a bit.

I’m with the sentiment, but the frustration for me stems from carrying 3 backs on the list who are often injured (Gov, OMac, Marchbank). It’s too high risk.

I think we should explore a gameplan whereby the ball doesn't go in our defensive 50.

That's not what you said. Take your old man know it all attitude and turn it into a coherent argument. You slung shit about work ethic and got shot down. So youve changed tac. It's clear you don't like him and it's probably some bull shit like he smiled after a loss and has nothing to do with his playing ability. If you don't like him cool? But don't make up shit about work ethic.
Yeah you shot me down because he "runs a lot". OK...
Perhaps you either don't watch actual football games, or just read stat sheets.
He's not an effective player. This is further validated by the stance of the new regime. So I'm not the only one that thinks it
And yes, him laughing after a stinging loss where he had 5 goals kicked on him is completely unacceptable

Lots of Plowman apologists on here
"He runs a lot in games"; then the argument is what is he actually doing? Because his impact is minimal, if not often negative
Sorry to have upset you all. He's just not that good

who votes in the Club's F & B? The match committee?

You saying your opinion is better informed than theirs?:moustache:

pure folly if Martin is made sub....

Interesting on Liam Jones.

Is he still on our list? ( he is on Supercoach)

Covid mandates are being lifted in quite a few areas recently. Could it happen in AFL ?

Highly unlikely but even if there is a glimmer of this happening by say mid season????

How good would it be to bring the Jones boy back. 😍
AFL will be last. Because WA & McGowan will hold on to the death on mandates on needing 3 shots (if eligible, you must have had your booster if second was less more than 3 months away) to enter WA.

In practical terms for the AFL due to matches being in Perth that means the mandate will be there as long as it is for WA

Hopefully Young comes in and cements a spot
The fortunes of our club this season are going to rest on the health of our key backs.
If Weitering goes down, we are well ****ed

Finally we’ve got good systems in place.

We’ve achieved 2 really important wins which validates our systems are effective.

I like discussing footy and who the ins/outs will be but I’m not at all worried about who it ends up being. I’ve got full trust in our new coaches and our systems.
I'm starting to build that trust but I'm not fully there yet. I need a bit more evidence

The match committee that didn't select him to start in the first two rounds this year?
I'd say our opinions on this player are aligned
Are you sure that wasn't because of his injury issue though?
Do you think maybe it's more likely that the new match committee left out a player for the first 1 and half games because he wasn't fit to play in the first praccy match?

I agree it’s early days. It’s looking very promising though.

Out of interest how many more wins will tip you over? Or are going to wait til end of year to see if we make finals and then decide?
It's definitely looking promising and my trust is building. For me and my level of trust, it's as much about how we play as it is the wins. They do have a strong correlation though.

If we can continue to execute the new game plan like we have so far (or close enough to it) for the next 2 rounds, I will have full trust.

Not sure there's a set amount of wins required...

Rather, need to see how consistent we are, how well we can cover for missing personnel, how we respond when we lose and the manner in which we lose etc.

We'll have a much better understanding of where we're at about half way through the season.

Never go full trust.....

Agree but over longer term the number of wins (and final ladder pos) ultimately tells you where you are at. How we cope with adversity whether that’s covid impacts or injuries is part of that.

Even in the last 2 wins it’s clear a step change has been achieved. No Voss and no Cerra and an in game injury to omac and we still managed to beat 2nd best team from last year.

If there is one thing I’m slightly concerned about it’s how we go without Cripps because he monstered tigers and doggies and was instrumental in both wins. Anyone else I’m confident we can cover.

Just a warning, Run for the Kids is on Sunday so there are a heap of road closures around the city
Someone doesn't want Blues supporters there on game day!!!

:p :p :p

But seriously, thanks for the heads up.
