I would have thought Hinge would more likely as the player replaced?

I don't think Poulter takes the small ler players defensively that Jones takes.
Hinge would be hard done by to lose his best 22 status in round 1 based off the footy he put out this year IMO.

I thought he showed plenty.

I would see him competing for a spot in our midfield with Sloane and Keays eventually...
Is he just a case of Macrea coming in as a new coach and having his own players in mind and being left a bit on the outer or has his form really fallen off a cliff this year? I have not followed him at all but you watch VFL likely more than most and might have some observations most of us would not see

IMHO ...in a mature Crows side, Stengle would have survived .....in a very young developing side, standards had to be set early .....Stengle was the example set
And what standard was that?..

that if you stuff up, even 2 or 3 times in your own private life the club will get around you and help you out?.. nope.

or

that If you stuff up, even 2 or 3 times in your own private life the club will see it as an opportunity to look like it’s tough and use you as a sacrificial lamb because it puts optics over its personnel?..

the dickheads threw a young player in the bin all in the name of optics/face saving and it’s come back and bitchslapped them extremely hard in that same face.

answer this.. do you reacon any of the crows players that like to do a couple of lines here and there, when they are having a few drinks, have stopped doing so since the club made an example of, and turfed Stengle out?..

if your answer is yes.. I have a bridge currently for sale that you might be interested in..

if your answer is no.. then exactly what has the club achieved?..

Yep, won’t ever be a star but has a nice little skill set for a half back-cum-wingman

Can be a role player in a contending side

And Patrick Lipinski a big bodied mid/forward coming in and Steele Sidebum's welcome return to form of previous years and a new coach looks to have been the possible reasons because his VFL form was pretty consistently good playing in varying roles.

His only AFL game this year he still racked up 3 clearances with virtually no midfield minutes.

If he comes at a reasonable cost I can only see positives in picking him up.

He's probably depth but I dont see him best 22 or even 26. Graham worse boat too similar to what we have. Bowes I could see best 22 - different to what we have but St kilda will take the deal on him after missing out on degoey I would guess especially if losing hunter clark.

It’s not unusual for a supporter to overate our current 22 or even 26.

You're entitled to your opinion I just think if Poulter is available at a very reasonable cost (Frampton type deal) we would be crazy not to have interest in a player that doesn't turn 20 until next month that has shown he's well up to AFL standard in his 1st year on an AFL list...

On the Collingwood site they have mixed opinions on him. Some call him soft? Similar to a Crows site in some ways. I would seriously look at a swap deal.

I don't think Nathan Buckley would be the type of coach to consistently select a "soft" player like he did in Poulter's 1st season....and he most certainly wasn't considered soft in his junior footy pre-draft, if anything the opposite.

All BF sites have haters. Why not Collingwood.:)

Optimistic view of the 26 guys on our list in front of him - I liked him as a draftee [but haven't seen any of his 2022 games admittedly] and think he would have the talent to push quite a number of our guys in the first 22. A handy player to develop on the wing - was touted as one of the most skilled of the SA lads.

I wonder if we might have some interest in another Pies youngster also yet to be re-contracted given we obviously rated him in his draft year when we bid on him....certainly an area we aren't overly flush in for back up with Frampton outta here? Had a wretched run with injuries so yet to really make an impact at AFL level.

Um… didn’t we recently get rid of his brother? 😜

Either way, he’s not with us any more.
No your post was 100% wrong, he chose to leave to go home after 131 games and 8 years of putting his body on the line for the Adelaide Crows...never took one backward step or shirked a contest in all that time.

Where were you looking?
I thought it was obvious even for You, but to help you out.
I was looking at the Gold Coast Suns one of those Queensland teams that play in the AFL.

And yes I will stand by my statement Rankine is worth our Pick 5, Whether that happens we need to wait and see.
The problem is we need that bigger body that can run thru the midfield as a Point of Difference to our current set-up.
Whether that is done by trade or if we use this year's pick 5 to get one and then attempt to use this year's second and next year's first for Rankine.
