Just by reading this (and this alone), does he have the potential to be a “connector” player aka Lynch, Seedsman? We need another one of those type players IMO.

I dont know anything about him, but taking from his Bio, I'm wondering if he can fill the Dawson role downback? Frees up a damaging attacking option.

Bicks?

My recollection is Vince's on field performance had taken a hit as well.
I actually think the kick up the ass Bernie got helped him career wise.
It was the typical winning papered over the cracsk. As soon as we started losing Sando had a problem with Vince, yet the year before no issues.

In the end His agent was threatening to go to the draft if we matched his free agent offer

Yeah I know he definitely wanted out at the end there. I'm just wondering did the worm turn before or after his indiscretion? Were we also trying to Lowball him, because I seem to remember him expressing a desire to stay at the Club during his final year?

I would hope if we're looking at him it's with a midfield/wing/half forward role...194cm mids with his athleticism, overhead marking and penetrating kick aren't easy to find.

So a better option in those positions than Dawson, or Dawson just more suited down back, all things considered?

I thought he did too until publication of his nose beer indiscretion.
Seems he was out the door already from all accounts.
He wanted a long-term deal and didn't care where it was he got it from. He'd of signed in a heartbeat if we'd of offered him a 5 year deal, but we'd tried to ship him off the year before, so the writing was on the wall for all involved that we didn't want him on a long-term deal.

If we're talking midfield, especially inside midfield Poulter for mine. IMO Dawson is best utilised outside the contest wing/half back/half forward.

I wonder if we might have some interest in another Pies youngster also yet to be re-contracted given we obviously rated him in his draft year when we bid on him....certainly an area we aren't overly flush in for back up with Frampton outta here? Had a wretched run with injuries so yet to really make an impact at AFL level.

Going by his stats he had a really good year - incredibly consistent - was it a case of someone else performing better in his position/s at AFL level you think?
Would have had to replace Steele Sidebottom who returned to his previous good form or Josh Daicos who had excellent form in the 1's and the addition of Patrick Lipinski obviously didn't help according to media.

Sidebottom's second half last weekend was exceptional.

Makes sense that Poulter couldn't break into the team.

Jones would be the one in the gun.
I would have thought Hinge would more likely as the player replaced?

I don't think Poulter takes the small ler players defensively that Jones takes.
