Mutineer it seems Port are all over Joe Berry, with Robbie Gray leading the charge to recruit him. Thoughts? They getting a good small forward here. I really like the look from what I’ve seen and would be a good fit for us.

Fremantle really want him too, some talk they might trade up ahead of Port

It's a pickle.

I just feel Sid Draper will be a Joel Selwood type and drag his club into being a powerhouse because of his ability and leadership - flow on effects of attracting others to play with him.

Not that Langford, Smith, FOS, Lalor won't be very good players, that's just the read I have on him.

Draper to the crows just has a good vibe to it.

Yes there was probably multiple reasons, his friendship was one of them.

Lukosius on his friendship with Connor Rozee

“He was very excited (when I told him I was coming to Port Adelaide). He was great…he kind of was pushing for me to go to Port, but knew I had to make my own call for my own journey (so) he kept a bit of a distance. And then I told him on Brownlow night, and he was stoked and we had a couple of beers together. So it was great.

Yeh I’m not saying we can get him. In an ideal world though, he’d be perfect for our forward line.
There’s actually quite a few nice small forwards in the 10-40 range in this draft

If we had a second live pick, I’d actually have used it preferably on a small forward over a ruck

Not what I’m hearing but you could well be right
I'm hoping we are playing ducks & drakes & putting Langford out there because he really is the one we least want... so we are more likely to get who we do want

Full season highlights for Jagga Smith, the most consistent performer in this years draft pool. He was a relentless accumulator of the footy no matter the opponent or the level he played at, and displayed some elite AFL level attributes along the way. He may not ultimately end up being taken at pick 1, but he's the most risk free of the elite prospects at the pointy end of the pool.

He's very good, and actually there are a plethora of really decent small forwards available in this draft, they also have a very decent NGA prospect available to them in the Panther's Benny Barrett.

I find it really hard to split Joe Berry, Ollie Hannaford, Taj Hotton and Isaac Kako though obviously Kako is getting most of the attention. Taj Hotton barring doing his ACL very early in the CTL season probably rated above all at the time.

Then there's others that are certainly draftable like Jasper Alger, Cody Angove, Jesse Dattoli, Josh Dolan, Jacob Newton, Malakai Champion, Ricky Mentha and Evan Bradley etc

All of Hannaford, Berry, Dattoli, Newton and Dolan have shown they're very capable in the midfield as a bonus if required.

I think it would be one of these combinations. Is there any chance Carlton take Smith over FOS C4[2]Yo`DooR?
I think so.

Although, it’s hard to know how much is Carlton laying the media trap re:FOS

I still think he doesn’t get to 3 anyway so it will be Smith.

I will be a little disappointed if Richmond take Draper, but also quietly confident we will get him back a few years later. It seems to be our plan at the moment.
And overpay for a broken down crock like Gibbs. Once they go forget trying to get them back. JHF we offered 3 1st and still wasn't enough. Rankine has proven to be worth 5th pick. Dawson only had one year of proving himself but that was good enough for a 1st. We toss picks around like confetti. Philapoo isn't leaving the Saints and neither is NWM. This why of all years, for the life of me I can't understand why we only have TWO picks in a decent draft.
Our list should have culled hard. We fly as one to our detriment at times.

Wowee I'm sold

I had such high hopes for Schoenberg when he first came into the side. I remember his first season he looked really good. He never went on with it though and actually went backwards from then. Not sure if it is to do with talent or just lack of commitment.
Reminds me a bit of Mitch Grigg. Started well and showed a lot of promise, but never really got going.

I know it’s only highlights but I struggle to see how him and Draper are in the same conversation.

I know Draper has better burst speed but Smith gets the ball and then gets to the outside, giving himself time and space again and again - amazingly agile, and has very clean and attacking disposal. What’s not to like?

He is like an eel, twists and turns his way out of trouble...he actually reminds me a bit of Lachie Neale in game style
