Doedee is just the latest in a long line of interceptor/medium defenders we've had. Worrell could fill they role, Michalanney too if we land him.

You'd be happy to have two intercepting 3rd tall/medium defenders in your best 22. Worrell I could still potentially see as a CHB down the track, depending on how his development goes (could also end up a 3rd tall), so that still leaves room for both Michalanney and Doedee in the 22, potentially

No talking from a manager usually means the trade is progressing OK with both clubs.

Was the case with Dawson last year & Rankine this year.

the difference now is that the coaches have finally worked out how to help him get the best out of himself and are using him to his strengths unlike previous years..

and another preseason with Burgess training him strength and fitness wise and he’ll be even better.

Also - trading proven young KPF's is never a good idea

If you have a KPF that averaged 2.6 goals per game at 22yo over half of the season, you'd be mad to consider him a trade piece

A player like Doedee would be very valuable in a trade for JHF, Might even get some worth out of players like Himmelberg and McAsey just because they fill a need for North

Agreed Doedee should be the player thrown up for trade along with ROB IMO. We can always ruck RT play himmelberg forward or pick up Lemmey late in the draft as another forward option as he’s dropped down the phantom drafts after being touted a top 5 pick all last year and have Worrell down back for the interceptor role with Michalanney coming in as a FS.
If Doedee was so committed to the club and wants to be here why hasn’t he signed an extension, he’s an RFA end of next year, he hasn’t signed prior to trade period so we should be trying to move him while we are in a position of some power atleast or he’ll end up at Geelong most likely as a free agent and we get a second round pick for him as compo due to their pay structure.

Same with Milera. Doesn't matter how good someone clearly is, you have one bad season (no matter the context of that bad season) and you're immediately trade bait.

I don't think anyone is hating on Doedee? We're saying he has value, he's a great leader but that's the kind of thing you're going to have to give up to get Rankine and JHF in the door with limited draft capital.

We all know JHF is not happening. I don't think anyone thinks it's a realistic scenario?
