That article doesn’t read well for us at all. It’s basically Essendon moving back in the top 10 if they think they can still get Phillipou there and they get a bonus pick.

Saints want to move up so it’s a possibility.

I honestly reckon any team that would consider trading out of the top 10 would want to be getting a pick of value this year back, as well as future compensation

Carlton is our best chance if Mattaes slips through that far...

If Rankine didn't become available late in the piece no doubt Mattaes was our target with that pick....but if he's Essendon's main target we'd still miss out.

I would have thought Rankine was locked in early.

Our pick was only used because Gold Coast played the game well.

It felt we tried a lot of pick 23 scenarios because we hoped to use 5 on Poo.

There's no way you or I know either way for sure but all the signs were Izak was happy enough at the GCS until the GCS played Powa in Adelaide in Round 15 where it's reported it brought it home to him the buzz he got playing in front of family and friends and having them in the rooms after the game.

No doubt we had been making overtures to him about coming home probably for a couple of years and went into overdrive the longer he he held off signing on again with the Suns.

We managed him to the point he wouldn’t have been selected in a div 5 ammos midfield. Now he’s a decent AFL level backline player, I just can’t see how the coaches aren’t heavily involved in how average he became. When he’s hunting the ball, I reckon he’s pretty good.

Why hasn’t Berry, Schoenberg and Soligo proven to be completely unaware at the top Level?

The kid is a poor AFL player - has a few traits that you can see why he was drafted but not traits that translate to AFL level. Has a complete lack of awareness

I remember there was a game where Chayce had the footy and his opponent slipped over or missed a tackle, I cant remember. Jones kept running forward but he slowed down enough for his opponent to get back up and nearly run him down.

Yes, that was the killer for me. He got past his opponent on the wing, and then inexplicably slowed right down to work out what to do with the ball, as if his opponent had disappeared because he couldn't see him. Unbelievable.

I don’t buy the Crows having interest in trading our 2023 1st for Phillipou at all.

I do buy us canvassing clubs for a pick swap. I just think there’s an incorrect assumption being made that it’s for Phillipou.

Do I know who it would be for? No. But I’ll take the Volbeat mail about us being turned off by the Phillipou interviews 8 days a week over the bullshit being spouted by anyone else.
