earlier this year would have given us some pretty decent intel on his suitability to join the recruiting team. Getting a lot right these days IMO.

Not really with Jeremy Johncock already employed in a similar space prior minus the recruiting role....Johncock is still going to be with us it just strengthens our focus on the indigenous lads and programs.

Agreed. Originally SA lad, another one coming home. Hugely respected....great move.

A very welcome move too. There is no reason that we should not be aiming to be league best and it seems we are on that path

Why do some people on the board like Justin Reid as our list manager? I'm the opposite of a cheerleader for JL as there are better operators out there and I personally think he is below par in my view. It is such a critical role and he is not a complete spud or anything but we as a club need better in the role. It is not all on him but he heads up our list management team.

Isn't he the guy we need to hold most accountable for our list? I not a fan of Hamish either but I'm just talking about our list manger atm.

i dont care who does it, how its done, if your name is john reid, arthur, martha, humpty dumpty, father christmas - I havent got forever........ not do I want to pay gold membership investment again and again for no return

in all reality the recruitment team have performed worse than reid. reid took some time to find his feet and lose his brashness. he is certainly not the best nor the worst.

kelly nicks over to you - if this group doesnt make the 8 please move on. we cant keep blaming the playing list.

Reading the press release it sounds as though Edwards main role will be in the recruiting team and then assisting with the indigenous player development role as required. I know he has been working with the recruitment team at Richmond for a few years now and it was his intention to move into that space once retired.

They've done alright in the last couple of years, however it would be a fitting end to Hamishs recruiting career to be moved on now once the club finally has a setup that won't destroy everything it touches.

As much as Kelly/Nicks have overperformed with this group in the last two years, it's likely going to take one more year before we're in a position to assault the eight. The thing that might change that is Rankine though because if he takes to the midfield, he certainly has the talent to drag this group kicking and screaming to the eight.

Beyond that though, this just sets up as a year where Adelaide should be aiming to push into the mid-table whilst a new core continues to get games and grow. Some more progress on offence/defence wouldn't go astray either

No, he’s not the most accountable. He’s the instrument of the List Management committee. Roo leads it, then you have Nix, Kelly and quite likely a couple of admin staff. Fagan and the bean counter used to be on it, so presumably those roles still are.

Reid is the public face of the incompetence of the committee.
