Sam Walsh IMO.
Not sure what number he would be at.
But he is top 10 for sure.
As they always do with these lists, they leave out Touk.
Would bank on him every day of the week to continue being a match winner for the next five years.

In our list I'd take mckay over curnow.
We'd love the height and dominance.
Only reason curnow does so well is because Harry takes the best defender every week
JHF got an apology from Kornes.

For me our 3 most valuable would be LDU, Buckets then JHF.

I’d go Buckets then LDU, purely by the fact we’ll find him harder to replace, considering how many mids we’ve got up and coming.
But yeah pretty much those three we could build a team around.

Darcy Moore is barely a top 10 key defender IMO, terrible 1-on-1 and gets beaten consistently.

What they are doing is so strange. Gutting their depth for a player that isn't really a great need in Jackson.
This is what I’ve been saying to my brother - a Freo supporter - the past month. They’re shooting themselves in the foot badly by doing this. Not having that depth will hurt not only covering injuries, but that competitiveness for the last couple of spots on game day.

AFL seems to operate in this weird reality where speculative talent gets overvalued compared to proven elite players all the bloody time.
It drives me a bit crazy.
Just because someone "could be anything" doesn't mean that they will be.
Luke Jackson is the case study #1 on this point.

It is the single reason why we suck. Hall, Polec, Walker, Jed, Turner are 18-28 players on a list at any other club. Barely scrape into game day.

That's nearly half of this list. Cunners and to a much lesser extent Corr have had getting on the park troubles the last two years. Lynch was a soft cap rort.

Ziebell spent most games this year cooked.

Goldy and McDonald did well, Greenwood was fine and will never be anything beyond that.

This is why we won two games.

I'd suggest a few of those players aren't even getting on any other list in the competition. If they were all delisted tomorrow and were available as delisted free agents I think Jed is the only one who would generate reasonable interest. Hall and Walker may get a chance as experienced depth. Polec's injury record over the past two years probably means no one takes a risk. And Turner is barely first 22 at VFL level.

LDU was ranked the 8th best player in the league post round 12.
It would be 10 years since we had a mid ranked like that.
Cunners best year he was ranked 15th.
LDU is 2 years younger minimum than everyone ranked above him.
I know folks don't like ranking points. But LDU is special.

The top 10 post round 12.
Look at the ages.
LDU sticks out hard.

Whilst I don't usually give any heed to player-rankings like this (wasn't Chad Warner meant to be BOG in the Grand Final??), I'd be interesting to know how LDU ranked with other <24yo across the whole season.

Zane Williams was the player we wanted at our second pick in the MSD.

Geelong Football Club has informed Quinton Narkle, Francis Evans, Nick Stevens, Paul Tsapatolis and Zane Williams they will not be offered contracts for the 2023 season.
So he is a Delisted FA now and can go straight onto a rookie list?

Brayshaw the obvious one that had a better year.
I cant think of any others that did better.

Through the season the aflcentral Instagram page would post updates of each age group based on their Champion Data player ratings. LDU was the top ranked 23 year old ahead of Brayshaw (who was 5th lol) according to that metric.

Would definitely be looking at Zane Williams. He's played most of his SANFL career as a small pressure forward but Geelong swung him down back and he looked great there in the second half of the VFL season.

I'd be bringing him in as a small forward but the versatility is nice and he's only 21.
Explains his better numbers than the first couple of weeks in the VFL.

Last 3 weeks
22 disposals, 5 marks ,6 tackles
25 d, 9m,3 tackles
27 d, 8m, 2 tackles

I guess they are selling him on that potential with delistings and aging players. Brisbane could definitely do with some help and he jumps the queue over Mathieson. Robinson, Smith and CEY being moved on.

They will be getting 2 midfield F/S players in Ashcroft and Fletcher and they are trying to get Dunkley from the Dogs, can you see him playing in the middle?

Brisbane only makes sense if he wants to remain in QLD.

Better than Bedford?
