With pick 1 guess it will be Wardlaw. For Norths needs now and not JHFs needs. Would need to draft a tall forward in Cadman or even Jefferson with the pick from Port.

I suspect the longer this takes the more desperate Port will become. As someone pointed out if he did stay Adelaide could possibly come into the equation next yr. Two bidders is always a positive.
Yeah, the day started at Pick 8 & Future First. It’s the end of day one and they’ve now thrown in a third. Their offer is only going to improve as the days roll on.

Ports posturing aside, they absolutely have to get this deal done now. They’re facing a member exodus. Kens on his last contract year. The members have been promised JHF. They absolutely need him more then we need to trade him.

I just hope our club realises that and takes them to the cleaners. I’m usually pro trading amicably, but given how Hornes management, Port & Jason himself have treated us (dropping this bomb the night before trade period starting), this needs to be a trade that we “win”.

I don’t think we need to take Wardlaw at 1. I’d rather go Cadman at 2, then Phillipou at 9.
2023 make a huge play for Callaghan.

Given that he is contracted , what would a ‘win’ look like in your view? . Something that is a realistic option if you don’t mind haha

By the way the AFL needs to make first round draftees initial contract 3 years. Give more power to the clubs.
This doesn’t really happen that much, and look, tbh we hold all the cards right now and look to into next year…

I genuinely think pick 8, future first and one of their young Victorians (Sinn is the one I want) is what it needs to be to get done. Even Barrett shares this view which is saying something.

North - Pick 8, 2023 First (Pick 10-15) & Sinn
Port - Horne-Francis, 2023 Second or Third

This is an extraordinary circumstance, therefor requires an extraordinary offer.

This isn't even that extrordinary, it seems just reasonable in terms of what both teams get out of this because of the factors involved. Players under contract shouldn't be jumping around unless clubs want to pay up and thats primarily on the trade table.

Alleged or fact ?
Fact - I was told this about 4 weeks ago by an ex employee of North who had been there for 16 years and also was a pretty handy footballer at lower levels. Noble basically blamed the recruiters for everything that went wrong this year …..not surprising they left.
