Ratugolea wants to head to Port Adelaide

By Peter Ryan

Clubs in pursuit of Geelong big man Esava Ratugolea have been made aware that the 24-year-old would like to get to Port Adelaide during this trade period.
"Made aware" by who, exactly?

Throwing it out there - they've been "made aware" by Port, who are trying to convince North that the picks we want for Judas might go to someone else instead.

I don't think leaving him in the VFL is a good idea.

The plan would be to convince him to stay beyond 2023, or to have him develop even more, so we get an even better next year if he still wants to leave.

After all the character assassinations, myself included, there's a distinct possibility Jason runs out for us next year. In which case, push the pride to the side, win some footy games and he sticks around in the long run
Or could this be a double spoof by his manager to get us to match poorts bid?

Yep.

Mike Sheehan ranked him at number #8 in the year he was traded.

The equivelant would be Pick 8 + Oli Wines
The other difference with that trade was the GWS instigated it by going after Griffiin, good play by the Dogs to counter by targeting Boyd, but GWS weren't really in a position to cry foul and demand massive overs.

NM on the other hand were quietly minding our own business, probably rescuing puppies or helping little old ladies across the road, when mean, nasty Port Adelaide snuck up and tried to steal one of our favourite things, hence they should pay more!

fine,,,,,massive overpay if they do! JHF is a contracted player, only an issue if they are offering overs for him, but at this stage still well and truly unders.

Wow! So Port might actually have to give up more than what they've offered so far?

What amazing, perceptive insight from Damo... Thursday afternoon, three and half days in, after they were told 8 & F1 wasn't going to get it done on Monday morning by Brady, we've since listened to them present the same offer re-hashed over and over as if it was totally new, now the media comes out with this amazing piece of independent critical thinking!

Thank goodness we have them to do our thinking for us....
