Expected remaining career value of Sinn >>>>>> Griffen
Griffen won 2 Bnf’s, an All Australian a club captain, played over 250 games.
Before being crippled with injury he was an absolute star. It’s a high bar you’re setting for Sinn.

EXACTLY.

We have grey upon grey upon more grey.

We’re actually mental for caring.

Yeh like you I am prone to bouts of critical analysis.

We're where all torn (imo) is we love the club, which is a genuine spiritual entity. 150+ years old and built from blood and sweat of the players, supporters and community.

But the club is part of a league, which as of 2022 is just the cold, apathetic marketing arm of various commercial interests. Without the club identities we cling to, the modern day league is about as emotionally and spiritually engaging as checking the air pressure on a tyre. Perhaps less so because there's not even a zen quality to it.

The function of Gold Coast as funnel for draft talent and a permanent fluffer for Geelong, Richmond and Hawthorn just bears it out. It serves no other purpose.

Sin actually means, without.

Which is apt as we currently do not have him.

I think I’d take 8, 2023 R1 & Sinn.
Only in Spanish. Latin sine, Italian senza, French sans, Portuguese sem.

Sinn in faeroese and Icelandic is “time”. In Gaelic it means “us”.

In time he will be one of us.

Amen brother.

I'd drop this sport in seconds without North Melbourne. Wouldn't watch another game in my lifetime.

Griffen was 28, though. Had a maximum of five years left, and as it turns out, only played three.

Josh Sinn turns 20 in the pre-season, and has a decade or more left in footy.

That's the difference.

See, this is why I love you.

We have North, Baseball and useless stats and facts.

Yep, because they thought they would be too good.
I don’t do basketball, but I’ve noticed they’re a well run league and a quality presentation. I’m surprised they’d be this malleable, the seppo’s love a rule almost as much as we do.
Didnt the NBA block Chris Paul going to the Lakers?
No idea. Maybe they were going to be 228% of the salary cap and owe $500m in luxury tax. Who knows?

It is soul destroying to think of the sport without your club in it. My heart breaks for the former South Melbourne and Fitzroy supporters, some may be able to see their old club in the relocated one, but I certainly get it if they can't and to them their club simply is no more. It's one thing I'd draw the line at when giving it to or taking it from opposition fans. Have all the fun you like with losing streaks, players leaving, choking in big games etc etc, but snipes about teams being relocated or folded completely are a step too far for me.

I’d absolutely take that. Feels like a win. Extras in two first rounds and a good player. Tick.
Personally I’d prefer pick 2 this year and Sinn/Bergman (plus maybe a future 3rd). Port’s future first probably won’t be until around 12-14.

Welcome to Arden Street Josh Dunkley, #1 pick in the PSD

Port Adelaide has rejected West Coast’s bid for Dan Houston as the two clubs discuss deals that could ultimately get the Power both Jason Horne-Francis and Junior Rioli.

The Eagles have looked at the Power’s list to try and see if there would be a current player the Power would be willing to give up as part of the deal to send Rioli to Alberton.

It is understood they inquired about Houston, but the answer from the Power was no.

Houston, 25, signed a five-year deal with the Power in March and had a career-best season for Port in 2022, averaging 23 disposals and six marks a game.

Rioli, 27, wants to move to the Power after 51 games for the Eagles.

Funnily enough, Moneyball was originally born as the baseball teams such as Oakland could not compete with teams with 3 times the cap and any player they developed was poached.

Now, the AFL allegedly has a cap and the future pick trading, FA, cap dumps and so forth basically enable the Geelongs to perpetually buck the cycle of bottoming out and we now have the same 2 tier feeder system as baseball.

GC and GWS are just overpaying their players in the same fashion Collingwood did to retain them. And now the AFL bring in new cap dump rules. To benefit who exactly?

Port might miss out. They’ve got to pony up a decent player.
