Ok the cream then there is generally 2 or 3 outstanding types plus these f/s types and other AFL rule types will happen in every draft can’t do anything about that unfortunately. We already know we won’t be getting Ashcroft it’s written in the AFL rule book. As I keeping saying we don’t need to do anything we already have the best 2 picks , give us an offer too good to refuse and we will consider it.

Then we will tell u to fk off lol

How I would do it.
Monday
1 for 3,12,19.
Clark for 19.
Tuesday or Wednesday
Jhf for pick 2 and a sweetener or 3 1st rounders.
Nothing goes back. They can sort there own deal with wc. Not our problem.
What kind of a sweetener would be acceptable to you in this scenario?
Bergman/Sinn could work?

Its not about the easy way out. Its about assessing where you are at currently and making the right decision. Not based on ego being hurt or emotion or screwing others over.

Do whats best for us.

It seems that your "do what's best" includes bending over in meek acceptance of where we are at. Most of us don't think that's what's best for us.

First round father sons should get no discount. Brisbane should be paying the full 3k points.

Agreed, not sure why everyone is getting so caught up on drafting Cadman. At this stage, we need to be drafting the best player(s) available. We had the second least inside 50's in the comp this year, not sure that a CHF will solve that issue. Also looking back at the top 10 key forwards this year in terms of goals kicked (Excluding Hawkins who was F/S), the average draft position they were taken was 15. This is also including Cameron, who for argument's sake, I predict would've gone number 1 in his draft year. Key forwards take time and don't always dominate at U18 level
Thinking of this, roos_fanatic08 & Souup
Who available later on is the best value/most likely to make it as a Key Forward?

Looking at what's best for us is very subjective.

There is an argument for us as a club that what's best for us is not accepting the tail wagging the dog either now or in future.

The current environment has managers ( and by extension, players) dictating where a player can go, when and essentially for what cost.

If you keep bending over, then you will keep bending over.

Personally I don't see that as being whats best for us.

People need to understand this is a competition , that includes game day, trading or whatever . We need to try and start winning everything and it starts at the flipping draft table , otherwise we will be ninth Melbourne and lower for eternity. And I am sure none of us want that . We are now into the third decade of no Grand Finals we have to change things.

All this talk of multiple picks this year from GWS for pick one. How useful are they to us?

How many would we actually use with available list spots?

Is Dunkley heading to the PSD?

Unless Poort pony up big time we keep Judas and hope that he’ll turn around with a year under Clarko.

Unless Poort can deliver a top 5 pick, F1 and Sinn or Bergman we tell them to GAGF.

What if, best for us is keeping him and seeing if a year under Clarko changes his mind? Or That next year Crows can gear up for bids, or that picks in next years draft are said to be better than this years?
What if Cadman is the No1 and we need a CHF? Seems GWS think he is at least.
Looking back on a number of trades we have made we seem to screw ourselves more often than not, so perhaps passing isnt about screwing other clubs?

Now wouldn’t that be a novel idea on parity or go some way toward it.

If it ever happens you can be assured it will be the year we have a F/S that is rated as the best kid in the land 😱
Wont matter imo.
A prelim finalist should not be getting pick 1 for a discount. Its bs. They would still get him but they would have to give up something real to stockpile for the pick. They would be after second rounders rather than multiple picks in the 40s which really have no value when the draft ends in the 50s.

IMO BB was a excellent trade in retrospect and jury is still out CCJ.

Gws have had much better luck holding vic country kids. I think that's why they want cadman.
If they used pick 3 they will probably leave for unders in a few years.

Said it before & nothing has changed, tell Port get us 2, F1 & Sinn / Bergman for JHF. Don't bother calling with other BS deals. That's what we demand otherwise he stays. It's not going to be this crap notion of win/win or fair for both parties. WE hold the cards here.
100%

Keep it seperate. Port can do the deals they need without us involved.

The only premise these mega deal has is to get Port a better deal and there is absolutely no incentive for us to get involved.

This doesn't go against what I'm saying.

If Cadman actually is our number 1 then we wouldn't be taking the 4th best guy because of position.

If Clarkson can turn JHF around and get him to not sign with Port next year then we wouldn't just be keeping him to prove a point.

I don't thjnk either of these things are true, but maybe they are.

3,12,19 would be gold for us.
19 for clark.
Wardlaw, jefferson, cooper in the draft.
Jhf trade would not need to be done. Or if it was we can move some picks into next years draft.

And best would be on not getting unders.
Next year we will have two teams from SA able to trade for him.
They’re mmmm can’t even be ducked offering a player of note to get the deal done.
It’s like when Judd left offering Troy makepeace and just our picks.
Why do you think that Adelaide would be in the mix next year?

It would most likely be Port and we would be getting less and delayed 12 months.

I agree with David King. We should look to acquire pick 2 from West Coast.
With 1 and 2 pick the best key position forward in Cadman and best midfielder in Wardlaw.
Acquiring the best young talent beats selecting speculative kids in the mid first and second round of the draft.
I just have a feeling that Cadman will be a special talent, and if we pass on him, we will regret this for a long time.
