There is only one way this plays out if we are serious as a club..

I can’t see JHF staying unless we change coach quickly and even then it will be a good chance he leaves.

Get on the front foot.

Trade him this year for two top 10 picks.

We have our own 1st round.

Trade next years 1st round pick for 2 top 15 picks for this year.

Hit this years draft with 5 top 15 picks as well as whatever compo AFL gives us.

Twiddling our thumbs and hoping JHF will sign on beyond 2023 is fanciful given we are a rabble and every club in the country will be in his managements ear as of today.

Waiting for next year just delays our chance of getting out of this mess.

P.S I love JHF and we all know he will dominate the competition for the next 15 years but I just can’t see him staying.

I recall the many posts....you cant trade Goldy...he is a one club champ....shinboner....blah blah blah

But in 2 years we lose two North greats - Tazza and Goldy, for nothing.

Should have pulled the trigger, when the club was going nowhere and the first round offers were on the table.


The club is in its greatest hour of need - onfield......and Goldy packs his bags to chase success.

The presumptions around here that certain players have jumped or will jump ship, rather than being pushed out, IMO, are off the mark.

It's easier to presume that because, well, no one wants to imagine our club is 'that' kinda org, but we have no evidence one way or the other. Well, even when the club has admitted they had pulled out of negotiations and told a certain player to find a new home, people still talk about them here as if they packed their bags and left us in the shit.
